Fair point. It's just getting a bit tedious with all the "swearing" debate.

I reckon the filter you put in place is great but it doesn't seem to be enough for some people.

There is a huge difference between swearing and being abusive, i could say "that was a fecking good game" (not offensive) or "Feck off" which could be to certain individuals.

The point that Father_jack is making, which i agree with, is that having this filter should'nt mean we can all just go around abusing eachother !

Mick is sorting out all the team boards to allow self-moderation.

The original posters all pretty much use the General board and aren't at all offended by the swearing.

Why not leave the general board as it is for us that like it and moderate your own team's board.

That way everyone is happy. If you don't like the swearing on the general board then stick to the team boards.

I'm very keen for this not to be seen as a personal money grab, it will undermine the integrity of what I'm trying to achieve. I'll probably have a voluntary donation button to help with the server costs eventually but maybe wait until people know me and trust me before I go cap in hand.

Wait until the popularity spikes around the time of the closure of 606, then put some ads up soon after. Once everyone's settled in i'm sure they won't be opposed to ads, besides you get used to ignoring them after a while.

Back on 606 most people swore by abbreviating the word anyway to get round the filter, so i don't think it's much of an issue.
Are threads like the porn one really needed though?
