I have to agree with Luke Croatia. Is Parker really the direction we want to moving in? Wholehearted just doesn't cut it at the level we want to be at. He would not be picked in front of Huddleston, Sandro, Modric, VDV, Kranjcar or an in form Palacios. If all he is keeping out of the team is JJ and Bentley, surely that makes him a. surplus to requirements and b.Not where he wants to be at 31?

Like it or not, Jenas made 28 appearances last season and if we received a £10+mill offer for Palacios, would you not consider it an improvement to sign Parker for half? We're Parker's last chance at playing for a top club, it's misguided to assume that he'll throw his toys out of the pram if he's dropped.

That said, the first player I'd chose from West Ham is Tomkins. I'd be interested to hear any WHam fan's opinion on him and the kind of fee they think he'd fetch.

I said that palacios would keep him out of the team so the 10m valuation makes sense. Out of the 28 appearances JJ made how may of them were effective? Yes West Ham hero or being a benchwarmer for the same salary? That really isn't much of a contest.

I was making a point that replacing JJ in the team still involves playing a fair few games. I'd rather Parker over Palacios anyday, Parker's consistent and that's what we need. If playing regularly and being a hero for West Ham is so great we could probably sell JJ to them.

I like JJ,I think he would prefer to be playing every week and he has great pace.
I would be happy with JJ coming to us and Spurs getting Parker and paying us £3M.

As for Tomkins I think he will end up as a classy defender in a few years,In his first few games
he got pushed off the ball a lot and got caught out a few times, last season even though we were ****
there were a countless amount of times when he came in with a last ditch challenge to stop a certain goal!

If Spurs purchased him now for £6M I am confident that he would sell for triple that to a club in the top four a few years later,so for that reason I hope interested clubs doubt his ability and let him stay with us

You being mischievious? :)

Thanks for letting me know what you think of him though <ok> Your whole defence looked rather weak, especially in the air last season but he showed some decent tackling and in the few live games I saw he tried his socks off for the 90+mins.

We're the last team they'd sell too. I've never heard Big Sam "whoring" so blatantly...must be spending too much time around one!

KH, its also my opinion he's on the way out, 31, spent alot of time injured, he's on a 'pay day' now and Harry knows it. He doesn't give us anything we don't have, not even experience, whats he got?, a career of relegation battles, and failure at a top4 side, injury?, change of manager?, boo hoo!, all bollocks, he failed, and has missed his chance now I'd say. <ok>

you can't have a team of show ponies, Parker was probably the best player on the pitch in half the games, and the 2nd or 3rd in the rest, woeful defenders and, until Ba arrived, no strikeforce were our failings, not the centre of midfield. no one has to carry Parker through a game, not many players you can say that about, consistency gives you points, without him I doubt we would've got half the points we have now.

Big Sam has signed two of his old Bolton midfielders- Nolan & Taylor. Quality players at that level. Both will be on decent wages so offloading Parker seems likely (to reduce costs). So he's talking up a sale.

But why would Spurs want Parker?

We have already shipped out THIRTEEN players on approx. combined salaries of 500K per week, so around 25 million OFF the wage bill.

We don't need to talk up a sale, we need Spurs to come in, pay the money we want and with time for us to react, or leave him alone.

The price is 8-10 million plus wages, with little to no re-sale value

Take it or leave it.

"top club"....LOL

Tomkins.....he's going to be a very good player indeed, he's been learning his trade in very difficult circumstances of the last 2-3 seasons, very unsettled and under performing team, this year could be the making of him. Tough to put a price on him right now but it would have to be at least 5-6 million, which I can see rising significantly in the future.

£8-10m take it or leave it?
That makes no sense, as it's not one value.

Croatia, I can't see he adds anything. He's a wholehearted player but his attitude is not matched by his skill.

He's not a bad player but he's best suited to being the talisman of relegation fodder. Is he good enough he play the anchor role of a team which is challenging for a top four place? No.

And you've enough midfielders anyway.

If people misunderstood me I'm sorry. I don't think he's good enough to be more than a squad player, he would be good in the Jenas role of 20-30 games a season mainly as sub and cup games. I'm not sure this will be enough for him though.
