It appears that Ash isn't going anywhere.

If Ash left now I think that would devastate me more than when Deano left first time around

That last paragraph sounds rather definitive to me

Just heard about this on the radio. Preston definitley interested still. Would hate to see Ash go, but it would put an end to the problem of Ash/Harper in CM.

close to tying up the deal according to sky sports bloody Hell.

I am the first to admit I have been saying we need to replace Ashbee for about 8 years now and now the time seems here I dont want him to go.

His play is the same as ever but All I can think of is his contract hes on £20k a week isnt he? and his association with Bullard may have caused this.

    Barmby for Captain?

I was shocked at Ashbee's wages actually! So it would be another load off the wage bill. Barmby would easily be captain if he played regularly wouldn't he. More likely end up being Dawson? A lot of younger players who i don't think could take it on.

I think there is more than a grain of truth in the rumour that Ashbee & Bullard are being shipped out due to of the field matters.

If he goes, I wish him all the best. He has given as much as anyone for the cause in his time and scored some memorable goals in crucial games.

    We move on though.

Unfortuantely this club is now being run by a clique that includes the two Pearson's and Barmby. I get more and more disenchanted with this club every day.

I would be absolutely gutted if Ashbee goes. What a servant for the club he has been. I remember AP saying how Ash almost single handedly kepth the players and team going when Molby was sacked as the dressing room was in dissaray. I think it would be a follish move both for sentimental reasons but more importantly performance reasons. Even if Ash is having a terrible game you can guarantee whilst he is on the pitch the other 10 around him won't be. True leader, and we get way more points with him than without him.

What'd be the point in blocking people you disagreed with on a discussion forum?

"Our new dawn"? Give me a break, how it can be a new dawn when we've still got relics from the past such as Adam Pearson around? Whilst him, Nigel and Barmby are here this club can only go backwards.

What off the field matters? I don't live in Hull any more and don't hear the rumours. Seem a strange couple Ash & Bullard. What do they have in common in terms of vices?

TWF - how can you talk about "relics" like Pearson and Barmby whilst saying the octogenarian Ash should be retained?

Fair point, I was mainly talking about the management set up.

Pearson seems to be very bitter and twisted since he came back and there's no doubt in my mind that Barmby has influence, I can see him being really disruptive in the dressing room. Think of him as a really enthusiastic bloke who's friends with the boss at work, nobody likes that type.

Would like Ash to finish this season off for us being the anchor in midfield we need. Unfortunately next year Pearson will put his own stamp on new players (already started with Evans) & I don't think we will offer a large salary over £6k a week for being a back up player in the club. So Ash may understand this and look for chances now.
I can see him wanting to link up with Brown, but I'm surprised Preston have the dosh to attract him. Then again he would be great for them & in their desperate situation may pay the money ash wants.
Would leave us short on numbers again though!
