Referendums and inductions are for ****s and *****s.
One of my issues is taking the European Parliament on trust. We could vote to stay in then they shaft us by failing to vote for the changes agreed by the EU leaders.
That's a gamble.
I think it would be a mistake because I think a stronger Europe best protects us.
Probably a bit racist but I think us Europeans are the greatest civilization in history. We have given the world the best things that exist in the world. From Irish literature to German ingenuity to British music to Italian style etc.
Greek and Roman civilization.
We are better together imo, especially as the world shrinks.
The fact that the Greeks pay in less than the Krauts means nothing to me.
Similar to what happened to Scotland then.Probably the most important thing about this. The 'deal' Cameron is pushing for is nothing but a gentleman's agreement by the other 27 member states. They have to ratify this 'deal' by enacting laws in Brussels and Strasbourg. If we vote to stay in, they could and probably will never agree to ratify the things Cameron wants. Ironically, voting out would make our future clearer.
Quite frankly the UK would be as well leaving the EU. We have not played the game since entering it. We are the spoilt brat of Europe and it's actually embarrassing.
It's all those moaning faced ****s of Nigelshires fault.
Similar to what happened to Scotland then.
Yeah they should have.Should have voted for independence then.
Aye cos Spain are going to put a stop to it ffs.Spain have already said they'd veto an independent Scotland's accession to the EU.
Aye cos Spain are going to put a stop to it ffs.
Scotland would stroll into the club, regardless of what happens in Catalonia.
Are you seriously of the mind that Scotland wouldn't get into the EU?Belgium could also veto it. All 28 members need to agree to allow a country to accede.
Do you think I or any **** else gives a **** what Spain says?Spain have already said they'd veto an independent Scotland's accession to the EU.
I used to do EU negotiations. I think there's a clause in the Treaty which says Spain isn't allowed to intervene unless the delegate rambles on for twenty minutes without once mentioning the subject the group is actually debating...Do you think I or any **** else gives a **** what Spain says?
The Spanish are only slightly less tedious than you.
There is no universal 'European' civilisation or culture. Scandinavia has different values to that of Italy, France has different values to that of Poland. The Enlightenment, from which we gained most of our 'European' values was limited to Western Europe - France, Britain, Italy, Germany etc etc. There's even talk of Turkey joining and their values are very different to those of Western Europe. Eastern Europe is notably less liberal and more religious than Western Europe. Your view of Europe and European history is naive at best.

we'd be in a worse state than ROI was a few years back ...Yeah they should have.
****ebags.
Whose to be sure ?Are you seriously of the mind that Scotland wouldn't get into the EU?
It just surprises me that so many people seemingly think the status quo is so bad that they're prepared to chuck it all away for a future that is, at best, uncertain. Sure, I am a creature of habit and cautious by nature but it really worries me. Ah well - looks like Pud and I will be spending the next twenty years on here saying " we told you so"...we'd be in a worse state than ROI was a few years back ...
Once the economy settles down, across the uk and Europe , then Scotland will be in a better position to become independent ... And if they go for it again , we better be going for truely independent and get the queen as head of state tae **** as well.
Naw bit they let in Poland and nae **** likes Poland.Whose to be sure ?
Do they have form for letting in newly independent countries without following their procedures ?
Aye righto, as if Pud has another 20 years in him.It just surprises me that so many people seemingly think the status quo is so bad that they're prepared to chuck it all away for a future that is, at best, uncertain. Sure, I am a creature of habit and cautious by nature but it really worries me. Ah well - looks like Pud and I will be spending the next twenty years on here saying " we told you so"...
Or me come to think of itAye righto, as if Pud has another 20 years in him.
