d I find some of these comments a bit insensitive. Your all guessing. and to be truthful it's Livermore's personal life and **** all to do with any of you. Talk about Judge and Jury.
I'm suggesting that if they didn't know then that's poor on Bruce's part, so clearly I have considered the possibility that they didn't know.
do people really take everything Steve Bruce says as gospel?? **** me. He's closing the discussion down. What do you want him to sy we had extensive knowledge of Jakes doings. We had him in constantly talking to him. We knew summat was going on etc etc Its done its over. Bruces job was to protect the club, Jake Exactly. People seem to want to take what Steve Bruce says in the press as gospel. It isnt. He's closing the discussion down and protecting the club. First and foremost. Why cant people get that.
So your dragging Bruce across the coals for something you know nothing about ? Anyhow shouldn't you be in bed in Oz ?
Because I would think Bruce saying he was aware of what had happened but didn't expect Jake to do what he did is no worse than what is being portrayed except it makes the club look a **** load more aware and inclusive. Him saying he had no idea and never spoke to Jake is doing the club a disservice not a favour. Not sure what's difficult to comprehend about that.
That's because he rarely has a third season because he gets poached by other bigger clubs: Porto - end of season 2 goes to Chelsea after winning the Champions League Chelsea - in season 3 wins the FA Cup and League Cup. That kind of failure must haunt him... Inter - end of season 2 goes to Real Madrid after winning the Champions League Real Madrid - in season 3 he got to the Champions League semi and lost the final of the copa del rey. His worst season of his career at that point. Chelsea - sacked 5 months into season 3 when current champions. So as you'll see, he's actually only spent a 3rd season at 2 clubs as he's a victim of his own success. But you know, facts and a good story and all that...
There's been a tragedy that Jake and his family will carry for ever. The club are supporting him through it. We should do the same, not have some pointless witch hunt based largely on guesswork.
He doesn't get poached, he leaves because he loses the players in the third season. Chelsea twice and real have gotten rid.
I didnt say he got poached in his 3rd season. I said he got poached at the end of his 2nd season. Which he did. He's only had 2 3rd seasons in his career, so it's hardly a trend.
That's not actually facts by the way but your spin on events. Listen to most players that have played under him. I'm not saying he's not a good manager in the short term, but there's a reason he doesn't stay long at clubs.
Go on then, what in that list of events isnt a fact? And by most players do you include Marco Materazzi openly crying when he left Inter?
I've no idea what my missus is doing or thinking most of the time, let alone the people I work with. If Jake decided to bottle up what was happening, that's hardly Brucies fault. He held his hand up, Jake is obviously dealing with it better now, it was a terrible thing, he made a terrible mistake, everyone, apart from some on here, have moved on.
His first season at Chelsea in the most recent spell, the second half of last season where they limped to the title, his benching of Casillas and poor relationship with Ramos, the fact Terry got him sacked the first time he was manager - that's from Makelele by the way - and his issues with the media and players in Italy. I'll say again. He's a good manager. He will win titles or trophies in the short term, but I don't consider him a great manager because he inevitably disrupts the dressing room, causes friction, and burns out squads.
For every player you just named you can name 10 who worship him. And every single manager in history has players who have fallen out with them. And if being only the third man in history to win the European Cup / UCL with 2 different clubs - both of whom were massively unfancied - doesn't make you great then I dont know what does.
If I may be so bold? I think there are too many words in that sentence Chazz, 'boring' and 'argumentative' (in my most humble opinion) are certainly superfluous.
