Abuse,is one of the biggest reasons cited for lurkers and viewers not becoming posters. Be it against them or others. Swearing and abuse are becoming more the stock answer for some posters, often because they feel some posters hold what they feel for here is a minority view. As well used as this board is, it could be used by more people, and with wider views discussed if some were more welcoming. The abuse didn't make it popular, freedom of discussion did.
Debate is debate. There is a lot of point scoring on here, but that is the way of the Internet. I like this forum because it takes no prisoners. Yet at times it has a lot of genuine compassion and great humour.
As a recent arrival I can confirm that the choice between bothering to even attempt to join in or just glean whatever info or news I wanted was a close run thing. The knowledge here about city both historical and current is considerable though and was just enough to make it worth sifting through all the self indulgent dick waving to get to it. "Well **** off then" comments not required. I take it as said.
He had no idea a member of his first team had experienced a personal tragedy and was seeking solace in class As. He even admitted that, during the entire period up to when Jake was suspended, he hadn't sought out a private conversation with him. How does that equate with your claim that he is 'understanding'? In this, Steve Bruce was deficient.
Agreed. Opinions should be allowed to be debated without the person being personally attacked for holding them. I'll again admit I've been guilty of it in the heat of an argument, but that's when mods should step in to diffuse the situation.
So from now on, when any of our squad have a dip in form, Steve Bruce should sit them down and ask them 'Are you sniffin glue lad?'.
He should ask them if there are any issues that mean they can't focus on football if it's prolonged, yes. For instance elmo this season should be sat down with, although I suspect he already has and knows elmo doesn't want to be here.
He should ask a man if they want to play for Hull City and earn £25k a week. If any of them aren't happy with these terms....
I don't disagree, but for some, they seem to think it's cool to be abusive for the sake of it, or because somebody has dared to challenge their opinion.
I tried to sign up for other Hull City forums, one never verified the account and another kept closing a created account because it wasn't an isp email. The remaining forum was dead anyway and so not worth bothering. So there's not really much choice.
