As was said earlier,Hes made it plain he does'nt want to stay(albiet mostly through his agent),If he is going he needs to make it soon because a few of the lads on our board have him in their fantasy league squad.

<whistle>

Seriously,if he still wants to go even though hes played pre-season for us i'd wish him ariva derci.

Wait, I forgot about him in the Fantasy Premier League! Going to check, might add him now <laugh>

Then he definetly can't leave <devil>

When his agent asks KK if he can the reply will be 'The computer says no' <laugh>

Aquilani OR Meireles being sold would be awful IMO.

Meireles not so much if Aquilani shines, his good but not key.

Alberto Aquilani isn't on the Fantasy Premier League game <yikes>

I'm writing an article on this at the moment, for my blog. They're both more key than you would think. Particularly Raul.

Raul had a good spell but after that was too inconsistent and picked up a few knocks here and there. Because he never got 'stuck in' against Manchester United it angered Gerrard who lunged into Michael Carrick and got himself a red card.

Meireles scored a vital goal against Chelsea and a beauty against Wolves, but if he was to leave I think it would make some sort of sense, its probably the only summer where we will get a decent price because of his age and the supporters player of the year award too

I really don't think finances are an issue for us in this day and age. I'd much prefer a Premier League title.

Actually you raise a good point. I think keeping a player who has proven he can cope with the league can only add to the squad.

To be honest I only want these players to leave -
Poulsen
Cole
Jovanovic
El Zhar
Degen
Pacheco (50/50)
N'Gog (Sell only if we sign another striker)
Aurelio OR Insua ONLY (Sell ONE only if we sign a left-back)
Shelvey (Loan only)
Spearing (Loan only)

The rest offer something that can add to the squad. I'd keep both Insua and Aurelio unless we bring in another left-back. N'gog only if we sign another striker.

So you'd get rid of Spearing on loan and rid us of Poulsen, leaving Lucas as the only ball-winning midfielder in the squad?

The rest I agree with, ftr.

I'd add an option to recall Spearing at any time with 24 hours notice

Loaning out Spearing would be similar to United loaning out Park. It's completely unnecessary and would only damage us, even with a 24 hour recall option.

Who would play the Destroyer role if Lucas gets injured in the first minute? It'd rely on either sticking a very inexperienced Coady in, or relying on the likes of Meireles to completely alter the way they play.

Eds I agree with that.
I reckon Spearing is capable of playing the destructive role.Coady is too young,so he couldn't deputise for Lucas.I reckon Poulsen and Aquilani and Joe Cole should be moved on.If only we could get 'Arry to part with £6 million for Joe Cole.

Why keep Aquilani and Mereiles, they more or less do the same thing. You also have Gerrard who can play a similar role and thats as a CAM.However Gerrard can play the tuck in role deep alongside Lucas.

Every single point in this post is just plain wrong, IMO.

just been on sky aquaman loan agreed
shocking, paid how much!
one injury plaqued season and then loaned out, very bad business

I think Spearing should be loaned out, he needs some first team experience and with the amount of midfielders we've got at the moment, he isn't going to get any at Liverpool.

As regards to cover if Lucas gets injured, don't forget Gerrard is very good at adapting to different situations and positions. There's not a definite need for a defensive midfielder in every single match, but it can only benefit us if there is one. If Lucas gets injured, you tell the team to chase down the opposition and defend deep into the opponent's half, therefore minimizing the job Lucas would have had to do if he was playing. Personally I think a defender like Agger could play the DM role well if pushed anyway.
