    His interview on the OS

"We passed the ball really well. Dean Hammond was good in the middle of the park and he's been phenomenal during preseason....."

I reckon he's read all the Deano bashing on here and decided to stick up for the skipper. :smiley-finger007:

Probably a comment to boost Deano's morale as he may have concerns over his place in the starting line-up due to the arrival of Jack Cork

In Adkins Saints player interview... he highlighted a " new formation " Soo personally i can see deano staying in the midfield... along with cork and schniederlin..., With a 4 3 3 formation! as so many teams in the NPC use this stratergy and we have alot of wingers now..

I think Hammond is underrated as a player...

He's similar to Schneiderlin and given that he has the experience and captaincy he will always be in the team.

A good tough, tackling player that gets stuck in <ok>

He does the dirty work for the flair players. Give him the start and if it all; goes Pete Tong, then he can be shuffled.

If anyone saw Cork and Deano at the weekend they looked good in the centre, both pushing forward and dropping back when needed. As much as I like them, Chappers and Morgan are going to take a back seat for a while IMO. Lee holmes also was good; so as we are strong on the left Lallana may get brought into the middle too...............how exciting.

However, I heard Fonte shouting at AOC in a very captainesque manner - and I was in row Z! I am not 100% sure Deano has what it takes to be a Championship level captain and would prefer to see Fonte with the armband.

I think Hammond will be a nailed on started for the Leeds game, and almost certainly for the whole of August and most of September. Morgan will probably make way for Cork (wrongly in my opinion). However come the start of the Autumn, if Hammond isn't performing or things just aren't going too well for us in general, I wouldn't be surprised to see Hammond dropped and Morgan recalled.

I only bought my season ticket so that I could watch Morgan.

If he isn't playing then it will just have to go back.

After the car park charges fiasco Morgan's non selection will be just a step too far.

Congratulations St Godders, that's the 50th time you've come up with a reason to give back or not buy your season ticket.

You've bought up your half century.

We should create some book of "101 reasons to return your Saints season ticket" by Godders <laugh>

Morgan must play if fit he is the most cultured and technically gifted player we have in the central midfield area and he also does'nt mind a tackle himself absoloute quality

I think he's a better player now compared to his first stint for us in the Championship. He can definitely play a more physical game.

I like Hammond, but I to feel Jose is better prepared for the responsibility of Captain.

Morgan will be class act in the Championship with the amount of time he will be given to distribute the ball. Cork will start and for me Hammond and Chappers will be fighting for the enforcer role. Can see Hammond starting a lot more away from SMS. He will not fit into the formation at home. IMHO

Surely Connolly deserves a place after his phenomenal recent run in the side and in preseason?!

Reason number ONE: I would not wish to be associated with a club also supported by an exagerating and fact twisting individual like chocolate box kid nor his henchman Conman the physio who just doesn't understand irony.

My wit is wasted on them both.
