    Still buzzing after Saturdays game.

I've seen Leicester play over a period of 50 years, 1000+ games, and I reckon that the performance against Man. City was the best I've ever seen.

    Anyone agree?

Tough one. Liverpool away in the cup with Banks making save after save. Luton away in the cup with a Weller special. An 8-1 demolition of Cov at Highfield Road. So many great performances over the years. The win last week was immense but so many other great performances over the years - even the comeback against man u last season. Cant choose.

I'd say it was arguably the most 'complete' performance I have ever seen... to go to the favourites to win the Premier League (ffs) and comprehensively turn them over (not hold on against all the odds for a plucky 1-0) is arguably the most impressive acheivement in my lifetime ... with a little more luck (and a correct offside decision) that could have ended 6-0 ... against a team costing £235 m .. when ours cost £21.5 m or whatever ... still the most expensively assembled team in our history but comparative small change when compared to our opponens ... truly awesome.

Didn't go to the Liverpool game you mention but we've had some great results against them over the years - Wellers Hat-trick at Filbert St. comes to mind. The Luton performance was great, Weller scoring goal of the season, and we followed this with Joe Waters scoring 2 at QPR. Another great one was the 4-3 replay win at Filbert St vs the very good Man City team of the time. Any winning game against Cov will do me!
To me though taking everything into account Saturdays performance did it for me. If Sterling cost £49 million I dread to think what Mahrez is worth.

Derby 0-4 Leicester after 15 odd mins was good, especially when the Sheep (Baaaaaaaaaa) started to **** off early. That game was seen on TV. Live in the stadium, Leicester 4-4 Watford, one boxing day in the 90´s I think. The best game though was Leicester 2-1 Tranmere, Lge cup final 2000.

That is the wording I was going to post on here Fosse. I'm younger than a lot on here (even missing the O'neil days) but from all I've seen, it was the most complete performance in how we dominated, defended and attacked well

Most complete performance I've seen was the 3-0 against Stoke. We dominated them everywhere on the pitch from start to finish and if I recall they only had 1 proper chance while we were in the double figures.

One another note, the best game I've seen was the 5-3 win against Blackpool - had everything with lots of action at both ends and a comedy villain in Beckford. It did help that I was with my two closest friends who had never been to a game before and we smuggled in some decent beer :emoticon-0100-smile

.........hmmmm with typical Leicester City supporting fatalism we have managed to turn this thread on its' head <doh> ....

... so back on track ... some great performances mentioned above ... but the CITEH game still stands out for me becuse of the collective circumstances ... we weren't playing a Stoke with a cup semi-final on their mind or a mid-table Derby or a 1980s/90s Man City ....we were playing a team that, has won the title twice in the last 5 years - were many experts pre-season favourites, have been assembled at an exreaordinary cost (perhaps the most expensive in the Prem?) have been bang up there in the mix all season, are still in for 4 possible trophies and at their own manor, with millions of viewers ........... we only went and fookin' well spanked them .... now if people around the world hadn't heard of us before then ... they have now :1980_boogie_down::emoticon-0170-ninja:emoticon-0169-dance:emoticon-0168-drink

Yes, that's all very well FF, but you have to remember that we have only got the league to concentrate, so we had a HUGE advantage over Man City :emoticon-0126-nerd:.

The best match I've ever been to was the Man City cup replay win where we were 2 down before David Nish scored just before half time. The ground was absolutely packed out and I spent the whole match with one foot on the wall separating the Popular Side from the Filbert Street holding onto the railings and then fell into the crowd when I started jumping up and down when we scored.

I was at that match, I can remember The late John Sjoberg having Mick Summerbee in his back pocket so much that Summerbee had to go out on the wing! A truly great match which I will never forget.

"Playing on the right wing, Summerbee was one of the most influential players in the Manchester City side which won four trophies in three seasons from 1968–70." fromm wikipedia.
So Sjoberg forced him to play his usual position

Mentioned this match in post 4. Was my number 1 until last Saturday. Filbert St. on a Wednesday night under floodlights was always good, especially FA Cup games.
The best atmosphere I ever experienced was whilst we came back from 3-0 to 3-3 vs. Swindon in the play off final.
Summerbee did play a lot of games, including for England, at Centre Forward.

In his eight matches for england, bar one he played with Geoff Hurst or Malcolm McDonald. I think they would have been the centre forwards

If you get your facts right you will find that Summerbee started out on the wing for Swindon, Man City signed him as a winger but converted him to a center forward (striker) were he had a lot of success and that season you will find he was wearing the no 9 shirt but he could not get the better of Sjoberg and was put back on the wing.
