If that guilty plea is for leniency then I would suggest that that's career over at the very least, and a very public disapproval. He's going to regret not controlling himself in the years to come. People have long memories about these things. What the judge sentences him to will be relatively small beer. The public will give him a life sentence.

His career is over now. The admission of grooming means that he cannot claim it was a one off and she looked older etc etc He has admitted guilt as he then hopes they will drop the other charges to avoid the girl appearing in court. Can't see other players wanting him in the dressing room.
Absolutely, especially players with daughters of their own. He should just quietly retire now.

When the trial is over, the punishment should fit the crime, no more, no less. If that sounds like I'm saying, go easy on him, I'm not. Besides, he will carry the real sentence for the rest of his life.
Well grooming alone can carry upto 10years.... if it's less than 5 it's just another example of money = power.
Yep. I want the judge to go hard on him. Teach footy players that they can't do this crap. Sunderland fans must feel pissed off, the guy denies it and gets backed only to change his mind.

Yep seems pretty obvious to me he was hoping that witness/es weren't going to turn up to court. Now suddenly has changed his plea cos realised he hasn't got a leg to stand on.
What I can never grasp is why. Can you imagine how easy it would be for a pro footballer to find a gorgeous 18-yr-old in a club or bar....why do this?

I'm firmly of the opinion people like this will always be so and can not be rehabilitated.
He must feel lucky that his partner Stacey Flounders went with him to that plaice. She must be feeling a little flat though. Not exactly a ray of sunshine for her all this.

Interestingly, in Germany there is actually confidential therapy available for people with such urges, which isn't reported to the Police (it is in the UK) - I haven't got information to hand but I understand it is actually pretty effective at reducing such crimes.
As for Johnson, there's no excuse for what he did, a custodial sentence beckons and is wholly deserved.
Nah feel for the girl to be honest, surely she hasn't gone to court with him this morning knowing he was gonna change his plea?
