Cheers Vic. he seems to have been a bit of a character in one way or another. Ok. Still on a literary theme. Which novel was originally titled 'All that is contained in a bottle of ink', because the novel took exactly a bottle to write from beginning to end.?
No idea, though I do know Jack Kerouac's 'On the Road' was written on a single continuous roll of paper!
There are any number of older short novels, so I'll take a couple of guesses: Mary Shelley...'Frankenstein' Robert Louis Stevenson...'Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde' (supposedly written under the influence of stimulants of some sort!)
Not there yet Theo. Actually, my copy has 493 pages, so middle length.....maybe the ink bottles were bigger then. I do not like the English title to this novel because the emphasis of it is wrong, in another language the title is better.
Thanks Cologne, a lucky guess. Who first declared a yard measure was from the tip of his nose to the thumb of his outstretched hand?
