They'd have to be desperate to pay with Guardiola, none of them is exactly underpaid, or needs the money.

Hope not. They've already got Aguero and Iheanacho looks a real prospect, but I think they'll replace Bony and bring in one more.
I can't see Kane being tempted by any club where he's not a starter though, so that should rule him out.
Lukaku? Expensive and he'd want to be given reassurances about game time, but Everton's league position might push him out the door.

Alli would definitely tempt them, I think. Pogba might be more of a name, though.
Utd fans would go absolutely ballistic if he joined City, too. Bonus!

Atletico Madrid have sold Jackson Martinez to Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande for €42m.
Big money for the Spanish team, but what's the attraction for the Colombian?

That or a massive pile of cash. One of the two.

Pogba in to replace Toure makes a lot of sense.

So after all this talk of "captain,. leader, legend" John Terry leaving the Chavs...it turns out they're in the middle of contract negotiations, and he's trying to force the club's hand. Sort of like when he publicly said that City interested him, just to double his weekly pay packet.

What a turd that...well I would've said "man", but that does all members of the human race, let alone all men, a great disservice.

Everton start with Baines on the bench, Robles in goal and Stones doesn't make the squad at all.
Martinez will be under some pressure if they don't win this one, I think.

  10. Chelsea look woeful! Is this the end of them as a top 4 regular?

I can see them going the same way as 'Pool, and being cast into the mid-table wilderness for several seasons.

United, I think, have a chance to recoup, provided they can get shot of LVG and Rooney, but Chelsea have a massive uphill struggle ahead of them, even to make Europa League standards.

doubt it very much, Chavs will spend big this summer and probably have a new manager to get back in the top 4
Leicester will get relegated and win the cl
only hope is utd are as turd next year as this and klopp doesnt improve liverpool with some new signings and exxits, both scenarios unlikely

Both Chavski and Pool will buy come summer. But, the new players will still need to be integrated. That takes time, and that's assuming it works.

What many overlook in this is that it's team game. And that's what Pochettino has built, a team. A team that works for each other and functions as a unit. Yes, there are some very good individual talents in there, but the sum of the parts is greater than the individual pieces.

Gomes is not my favourite ever keeper, but his performance tonight has been well worthy of <applause>.

I think NSIS hits the nail on the head - having an effective team is the most important thing. City and Chelsea have got by in previous years by having lots of different players being bought in around a core of 'club players' of a generally dependable (or better) quality and generally they had the money to do this (buy a series of good players every year or so to make the difference) and the core of players more or less staying put kept things stable enough for things to work out as long as other clubs couldn't buy the players they wanted or build teams good enough to usurp them. Now everybody has money in the PL, so there is more competition for good players coming into the league and its much harder to buy from a fellow PL club to boot, so I think those 2 clubs will have to change their model.

Hopefully a club like Spurs is peaking at the right time in this regard - the core of our team is relatively inexpensively assembled with 2 notable exceptions (especially if you consider net spend, and our overall transfer outlay or lack thereof compared to the revenue opportunities available to the club in its current condition) compared to the rest of the league, and although we have a stadium to pay for we should hopefully have the right combination of finance and team loyalty to keep the key men at the club until we've paid off the stadium. We'll hopefully be settled next year when many around us will be in turmoil. A lot could change though as this summer could see more money thrown about than ever before and that does have a tendency to turn the heads of players, managers and chairpeople...

Where will Chelsea be without John Terry though as he's been very influential? They play Man U at the weekend and I cannot see them winning it. Curtains for Newcastle to lose so heavily to Everton.

i hope Newcastle stay up. I wish Townsend well. Plus, they are the last game of the season for us, i do not want them battling for their lives against us if we are in the mix.

Yes, and it aligns with the fact that Dembélé plus Dier are simply intimidating due to their strength, commitment and skill--and the way the officials have gone from straight out opposition at the beginning of the year to something like guarded support, or at least benevolent neutrality, at this point. We’re no longer getting pushed around either by other players or by the officials, or at least in anything like the way we did. We’ve been gradually working our way up the ladder of most fouled teams. We’re now the ninth most fouled team, after starting the year as one of the least fouled teams.
