Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham Talks over Nick Powell's proposed loan move from Man Utd still ongoing. Not straightforward but still likely. #hcafc
Maybe the new owner/owners don't have loads of money to spend on players or arent planning on splashing cash even if theyve got it
I hope you are both right. But it's a risk going for promotion with only one decent striker. Akpom is a young lad, inexperienced, inconsistent, unreliable for us at this level and with these stakes. Diamonde has no experience of English football, has had one good season in Norway, failed in Belafrigginrus, and has injury problems! Powell may help. BUT I fear we really do need a striker still. Powell in, Diame (unfortunately) out for say £5m, FC in. Decent business. Hull City promoted. #sorted
.... and he will help us again. One way or another. It is what the anti-Allam collective want the rest of us to believe. Thankfully they are failing. NO BIDS for either the club or players have been received.!!!!
My original post was a bit tongue in cheek (it perhaps doesn't look it), I personally couldn't give a **** if we bought anybody or not, I haven't been excited over a transfer since we bought Shaun Smith from Crewe ....... it's an age thing.
If Assem was really bothered about securing promotion, he wouldn't be risking the rest of the season with only one decent striker.
The last players I was buzzing about was Paul hunter and the way that turned out i never get excited about a player until I see them playing well for city
If a decent striker is available then he will invest. Rhodes is not worth the outlay. Fulham wont / cannot sell McCormack for obvious reasons. Powell is the best we can get in this window. Looking at the table we are doing ok so far. OUR squad depth is the best in the league and we still have the LOAN WINDOW available should anything happen. Talk about tempting fate though.......................
Simply not true, there's no cash available, as has been clearly stated throughout this window. We've been looking at loans only and even then we've not been able to get who we wanted due to wages being too high.
Yes. Because the only real value in January is LOANS. January is for the panic buys. Middlesboro who most feel "will spend big" have baulked at the Rhodes deal. For it to be back on again Rhodes must be taking one massive pay cut and he was only ever going to leave Blackburn for Middlesboro. Nobody else will pay the silly Wonga that Blackburn do. For me, McCormack in the summer to us from the PL windfall is far better business and value.
Is the Powell deal purely a loan? Or a free transfer or other? Why are there a lot of complications on a straight forward loan i wonder?
