James Pearce: "#LFC offered £24.5m + £3m in add-ons but were told they would have to pay £38mn (€50m) to secure Alex Teixeira's services."

Sad thing is, I reckon there are a few on here who think doing well on Football Manager makes them an expert.

dunno... we only hear the ones he completes or the spectacular failures. he could have a long list of near misses we've never heard of.

If we signed Remy then 'Binomial' could have a more suitable username.

Abdoulaye Doucoure – Rennes to Watford?

    Football Manager computer game expert

    Posted at16:07
"A box-to-box midfielder with great stamina, work rate and determination, Doucoure is not especially cultured but would bring a strong physical presence to the Hornets.

"In FM, he’s seen as a decent Premier League player but his attributes for passing and technique are 12 or higher so he’s not a total clogger.

"Anything more than £3m as a fee would probably be over-the-top, though."

We have asked Football Manager expert Alex Stewart - a man who is no stranger to snaffling bargains and spotting potential, all from the comfort of his own laptop on the popular computer game - to offer an alternative perspective on the transfer market.

The cheek of it! This club expects the likes of Benteke and Carroll for that money!

They were PL proven, and Carroll was homegrown

    Seems a fair valuation
