Newcastle defender Jose Enrique has voiced his frustration at the club's transfer policy and has implied that the officials do not want to invest in the squad.
The Spaniard, who has been linked with a move away from St James' Park for the majority of this summer, accused his employers of a lack of ambition and also claims he had been offered no improvement on his current salary.
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew said in May that the club would make Enrique a "fantastic" contract offer.
The 25-year-old has a year to run on his existing deal and no progress has been made on an extension, much to the club's frustration.
Newcastle came under fire in this evening's series of posts by the defender on social networking site Twitter.
Money
Beginning in Spanish, Enrique claimed: "The club is allowing all the major players of the team to go. Seriously, do you think it is the fault of the players? Andy (Carroll), nobby (Kevin Nolan) etc etc.
"This club will never again fight to be among the top 6 again with this policy."
Paying tribute to the Tyneside club's fans, he added: "I think you fans are the best and you deserve the best, not what they are doing with the club. Thanks to everyone for supporting me."
Switching to English in response to another poster, he then wrote: "The [sic] give the money I have already. They lie all the time. But is no for money is because they don't want spend in the club and bring quality players that's why everybody go."
Enrique, who joined Newcastle from Villarreal in 2007, has reportedly drawn interest from Liverpool and Arsenal this summer.
It seems that Enrique has had enough and has opened fire on the NE second clubs owners and management. Its quite obvious that having had time now to reflect and see the clubs transfer policy in full flow and standard of recruitment's to replace Andy Carrol and Kevin Nolan, the Spanish International has not left much room for the old "lost in translation" get out clause.
I think the line "They lie all the time. But is no for money is because they don't want spend in the club and bring quality players that's why everybody go" sums up the barcodes summer recruitment policy totally. They havent brought in quality but rather total gambles and quality players such as Enrique have obviously sussed them out to be 2nd rate straight away. This isn't my opinion its Enrique's, a barcode 'legend' apparently who has let the cat out of the bag.
Its a shame none of our summer recruits are good enough to get into the NE's runners-up club team as we may have been able to help them out but when he (Enrique) has left the club to join Arsenal or Liverpool in the nest week or so, it will free up the 30 bob Agent Ashley will give to Cockney yes man Alan Partridge, to go out and find yet another cheap, nasty unproven, unheard of replacement they can haggle over. What an embarrassing humiliation for the lower placed NE clubs fans to bare.
NE top club status is not even an issue and the 4th consecutive year of Sunderland dominance in the NE is assured before kick off.
