Sorry ELLERS, after reading my original reply to you, it did come over as a bit aggressive. In my defence Id just done a night shift and woken up in my usual foul mood...please don't take it personally as it really wasn't meant like that.
The point I was trying to make, badly, was that in my opinion, it's a bit naive to think the Charlie really held any loyalty to us and that he was ready and willing to sign a new and lengthy contract to stay at ours for his foreseeable future.
He seems to me to be a very clever guy who knows how to play the game and get the fans on his side ( not that this is a bad thing of course) but ultimately, I feel, and it is only my opinion, he would of been looking at a decent move to a far better club long before we were promoted.

As I say mate, only my opinion and sorry for any earlier offence I might of caused you.

Why the need to be so aggressive with the "DOH" sign?
I would have hoped that the question mark at the end of my statement would have offered a clue, even to someone with your limited grasp of English, that I was asking a question as apposed to stating a fact?
Still, we can't all be a smart arse know it all like you eh?

Col chill out, i think you took that a bit personally when i wasn't directing it directly at you.
However, should it not be 'opposed' instead of 'apposed' i am only asking as i have a 'limited grasp of English', i mean, i wouldn't want to make a dick of myself trying to be cocky, would i?

    No worries Staines.
I know i can be wrong at times and i am happy to admit it. But when every Press outlet says that Charlie was a 'steal' it really makes you think how this can happen. We should never be losing talent like that for so little money.

Is that a Dead Kennedy's logo Stainsey?

I should imagine it's a bit chaotic with all the cancelled East Coast flights. Had a bunch of redirected people on my flight to Chicago this morning. A few were moaning about it, I felt like shouting 'even I don't blame the airlines for once in a generation storms! Are you all off to foil a terrorist plot or perform life saving brain surgery on a child? Get over it for ****s sake'. But I didn't.

This thread's a bit feisty isn't it? Are we arguing about which of us knows least about everything or board etiquette? Just to be clear I have nothing but opinions and Uber is my grammar sensei.

Feisty is cool by me and i don't mind half the comments i read. When people try to knock someone's grammar it's a bit low for me. I agree i make loads of mistakes because i am normally typing while doing something else and i never check my posts before sending (maybe i should).
However, posters should never knock someone's grammar on here especially when they make mistakes themselves. Just makes them look a bit stupid

It's all work, work, work at the moment, which I'm finding all consuming, stressful and depressing. I can't see an end to it and it's pissing me off right royally. Anyway, don't want to hijack this thread, soz.

Actually Ubes I can go along with that, been working yesterday and toda as well and you're right it is no fun. The only good thing I have at the moment is that the bulk has been done and work/life balance may get back to some forms of normality in the next few weeks.....keep the chin up...

We always wanted younger players and players we could develop. Was so hard with past teams. Now we got right team who think long term.

Nothing wrong with this, think most appreciate the fact that the team should develop younger players, still needs to be a balance between youth & experience. Filling a team with younger league 1 players & hoping they develop is not a gauranteed recipe for success.

We need to build a solid base so when we go up we stay up. Jimmy les and Chris and lee are doing that. We got good guys now.

History would say that having an inexperienced Manager, DoF + TD alongside a team of youngsters is not the best policy but fingers crossed we might get lucky. Why not when already in the Prem & sitting outside the relegation zone you try & strengthen in the January window like other teams rather than do nothing & then capitulate.

Yesterday was story out our season. Frustrating . Cruel luck. Post hit. Double deflection. But sure we heading in right direction.

Story of our season was employing the wrong manager, not offloading certain players in the summer so could re-invest in this seasons team so already having to look at next season with this one being a complete write off. Seeing the difference an experienced manager made to the existing team in a matter of weeks says it all.

You got it right mate, one of, if not my favourite all time band. Saw them a couple of years ago at a festival (without Jello of course) and they were still as brilliant as when I used to listen to them in my youth !!

Been actually very quiet here to be honest and not a lot of affect on us so far here with baggage, but as usual I think it will affect us in the next week or two when people start to fly again but their bags don't.
Meanwhile I've got my last night shift to deal with, watching American Football and Cricket....but mine is the burden to bare

    wow wow wow
im like you very disalusioned with the captain of our ship but its not fernandes im upset with its the
    DICTATOR OF FOOLS FERDINAND
he is absolutely useless and screws up everything he touches if he had tried harder he could have brought in warnock and kevin blackwell
then we would be in the play offs and still had charlie austin footballl is so simple
EVEN IF THE IDIOT DIDNT DO THAT AND BROUGHT IN JIMMY FLOYDE HE SHOULD HAVE EXPLAINED THAT WARNOCK FOUND OUT THAT FOURLIN SANDRO AND FER TOGETHER WERE A FANTASTIC MIDFIELD BUT NO HE SITS THERE AND LETS JIMMY FLOYDE PUT PLAYERS LIKE LUONGO AND HENRY IN THE TEAM YOU COULDNT MAKE IT UP
but ellers at least you have the courage to actually try to find another format most of the posters on this website are terrified to say what they feel

So you want Ferdinand to pick the team?

Most posters on this website are very quick to say what they feel. They just don't endlessly repeat the same crap.
