We can all be armchair experts and all enjoy the benefit of hindsight. TF has been naive in the extreme but no one will have lost more than TF on this project. I saw the accumulated values of the top European teams reported on TV the other day, TF has spent more on QPR than the apparent entire worth of Spurs.

I wanted Harry gone about 2 months before the the play off final. By that time he seemed only to be reducing our chances of getting a strong team promoted.

How the f*** do you know what's true or not behind the scenes, and the situation with Charlie's contract 'after promotion' ? Or Ellers, is it just your OPINION, and you actually know sweet FA what went on (like the rest of us) ?
Before you start making other posters out to be fools, maybe you should read your own first fella....its all speculation on all our parts....but please accept my apology if you really are an ITK and know for sure what contract he was offered.

It was all over the media. They were also talking about it on last weeks QPR podcast.

CR's record this season as Manager is better than we have managed since he left, and he has been part of the process of getting rid of some of our pensioners and bringing in the likes of Smithies, Luongo, Cheri, Jet, Hall, Perch (who us looking decent now) and others.

He barely played Smithies, Chery and JET and Perch is now getting to close to achieving mediocrity now he's gone. Hasselbaink has a very tough job but the second half at Rotherham and first half yesterday were better than anything we had for some time under Ramsey.

Hello Staines nice to read your once a season informative post to me? Actually, i am not ITK but heard and read that Charlie was over the moon being at QPR and after the play-off final wanted to be at the club (and why not from non league to Premiership). The club were then talking about a contract. (it was well documented at the time). I then heard Harry in an interview when questioned on that, saying we will sort contracts out at a certain time (which should have been straight after the play-off final.
The fact is, like most things at QPR they seem to take forever or cock it up. During and after the play-off was a special time for players /fans/club and Austin would have signed a contract. They left it and the rest is history.
Like with Remy, another cock up.
But forget what i say as i don't know 'Sweet FA' i will leave you with Rodney Marshes thoughts on it.
"Charlie Austin £4mill ? like I said worst piece of business in 20 years #qpr"
Or is he wrong as well?

You are forgetting that both Jet and Cheri played most and best under CR. We also scored most under him. But my point was that imo Les and CR did our best transfer business for years last summer and this seems to be continuing now with the signings of Washington and Ingram. A lot is clearly still not right but some bricks for the future look like they are being put down.

Why should Austin have been offered a contract after the play-off final? After one, albeit good season with us there was no way the club could know if he could make the step up. I'm sure the ambition was to stay up and establish ourself in the Premier League, and if Austin couldn't make the step up we'd be saddled with a player not good enough on a long contract. When Austin had proved himself it was already to late, we were heading for the Championship in record time and Austin wouldn't sign a contract knowing he only had one year left and could pick and choose his new Premier League club. I really can't see how the club could have handled it any other way. Unless they were in possession of a crystal ball. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I don't notice anyone on here 'shutting up' so I've no idea why people feel they have the right to ask TF not to comment on things.

What you mean commenting on events, where they don't know the full facts, but just make up hypothecations to suit their argument ?

    Surely not !! :emoticon-0136-giggl

Sort of agree with some bits Norway and hindsight is a wonderful thing. I wish i had a crystal ball as i would never have had Ramsey as manager however i don't think we needed a crystal ball for that outcome.
Charlie scored 17 goals in our promotion season and crucial ones in the play-off game against Wigan. He was a proven goal scorer and we all knew, especially the club what he was capable of doing. Even Redknapp said he would score goals in the Premiership and that was before the season started.
My point is that QPR have not been making good decisions since TF has been here. Now, I am not saying i want him out, just that we have made too many stupid mistakes on contracts. It's not just Austins, think about SWP and others.
We now have a new striker and next season if he bags 25 goals which takes us up should we wait again for contract talks?

Loads to choose from on the W12 streets and pavements yesterday.

Never mind glory rounds the streets of Loftus Road.... more like horse and dog **** round the streets of Loftus Road.

Glad my young kids weren't with me as I'd be pointing it out and warning them to watch out for the 'doodles' non-stop.
