Flannagan was accepted as was Gomez when he came through this season. Fans aren't mugs, they know what they're watching and when a player is either not putting it in, or just isn't up to it they'll react accordingly. The 4 players you've listed there were barely picked by your management, the reason they either didn't or haven't achieved at Anfield is nothing to do with the fanbase.
Who said you weren't? But you're still part of it, and your place in that food chain is on the slide, as years ago the thought of your star player leaving to join City would have been laughable
Drivel. What I hate personally is us spending a fortune on players of a lower standard than our old youth set up used to produce for a fraction of the cost
That's your hope. We were on the slide for about a season (since challenging for the title, like) and so replaced our manager with one of the best in the world. We'll then see in Summer what proper transfers we can expect under Klopp. You have been appalling the last couple of seasons but you've just given up. 1 win in 9 and Martinez has no pressure to improve because that's good enough.
Makes a change from everything being Rodgers fault I suppose Now it's all our fault Insua got fat, Origi got injured, Marko was more arsed about his hair and Ilori has been usurped by Steven bloody Caulker
coughs.. can name 2 two did... the only two of note who made it though for a while. lets call a spade a spade here.... everton have done ok but they don't have a barcelona style academy or team full of local worldies. They've a squad of: Joel Robles Tony Hibbert Leighton Baines Darron Gibson John Stones Phil Jagielka (captain) Aiden McGeady Bryan Oviedo Arouna Koné Romelu Lukaku Kevin Mirallas Aaron Lennon Steven Naismith Tom Cleverley James McCarthy Muhamed Bešić Gareth Barry (third-captain) Gerard Deulofeu Ross Barkley Leon Osman (vice-captain) Steven Pienaar Séamus Coleman Tim Howard Ramiro Funes Mori Tyias Browning Leandro Rodríguez Mason Holgate Brendan Galloway Conor McAleny Matthew Pennington thats lifted right of wiki This debate surrounds how many of these guys? baines was form wigan team stones from barnsely no? Deulofeu is from barca coleman bought form ireland Barkely homegrown Browning Home grown Galloway homegrown too. hmmmmm..... The debate WAS about evertons academy but seems to have become a pissing contest now. It started with me and billy complimenting evertons underage academy. I nshort its not easy anywhere in the prem to break through to become a first team player, everton is no exception. The original point was local lads seem to rather go to everton than LFc and billy expanded that to non local young lads and families too. Adding in 19 year olds etc lessens the praise for evertons work I can just as easily write gomes charlton Moreno seville (big stretch there btw but just as vailid as deulofeu) Can Leverkusen Ibe Wycombe Flanagan... ermmmmmm.... ****e... smith randall et al etc etc etc the fact is everton made the best one in barkley in 10 years and have done well to snag byram for nothing and deulofeu for nowt too. LFc by contrast have not done so well in either arena. The whole point is praise for everton
It's not a 'hope' at all, it's merely a fact. You've been on the slide for years. The 2 oil clubs barged your nose out of the CL trough, and you've only had 1 season in that comp in the last 6 as a direct result. You've gone from being virtually shoo in's for the CL spots every season to largely also rans. You've won 1 League cup in nearly a decade, and haven't lifted the Holy Grail in a quarter of a century. You're now hoping that Klopp can somehow turn water into wine and restore you at the top table, time will tell..... As for us, we've been far from 'appalling' this season, we've been one of the best sides in the division to watch and have been scoring goals for fun. Unfortunately we've got a complete spanner between the sticks, and our league placing is average as a result. If you put a genuine top drawer keeper in the that side, we'd be pushing for a top 4 slot. There's little wrong with our current side, it's just got one massive weak link.
true. If you spend 7mil on a player like alberto or ilori they are first team players not youths. if you spend 20mil on an elite talent they have expectations. ie markovic... There was zero difference between ibe and markovic in return. zero... it was a bollox transfer done with money to burn and zero sense
If it's become a pissing contest then that's been done by you I'm afraid. Galloway was bought from MK Dons btw. You seemed to have missed Billy agreeing with me on the points I made about the view of both clubs to potential young signings btw.
We're fun to watch because we're a good side lad. Our attacking play is great and we play some very attractive football.
all true. I don't mind saying it but a home truth As also rans we are rfar far richer than everton. far Far better placed for the future than everton even with stadium concerns and shock horror everton have not won a thing barring Liveprool senior cups since 1995... If we are also rans and you are happy with what your lot have done fair enough.... amazing how you can be anything but disappointed from where you are at right now. AND I STILL HOPE YOU DO WELL IN THE CUPS!!! (you bitter old blue)
And you celebrate late goals like you've won a cup when you haven't even won the game Your football isn't attractive enough to cover up 1 win in 9. IMO, but evidently not IYO.
Who said I was happy with our current place in the pecking order? A daft assumption based on nothing that. I'd love us to be challenging for titles again, but we haven't currently got the level of resource necessary to make that a realistic ambition. Your extra wealth has counted for virtually nowt in recent years, as you've largely spunked the cash. As for the future, we could be taken over by a Billionaire who knows? My crystal ball is a tad misty
And yet that strangely could be a double edged sword....more money to burn yet owners who understand little about the actual game and ethos of the club etc. You could go all "moneyball" and start spending instead of using the likes of Barkley and Stones....misty indeed. If you need a transfer committee any time soon I can sell you one at a very good price
Passion shown by the players just shows that they're enjoying their football and are a tight group. We've played City twice, Chelsea away and Spurs so far this year, and remain unbeaten. By contrast you've lost to United and West Ham and scraped a draw against Exeter and Arsenal. I know which results and performances I'd prefer to have in 2016
We're still above you though so what's the point of cherry picking results? And Klopp has been in the job for just over 100 days. 1 win in 9 is the result of 2.5 seasons of Martinez's plan.
