You have far more direct connection to the club than I, but from the outside it looks like we have something of a lack of institutional control. Things seem to fester for quite a long time before being addressed, so we have parents upset with the handling of the youth sides, football ops upset with the manager, the manager upset with the board, scouts upset that action isn't being taken, inconsistent messaging from our principles, etc.

Could you point me to specifics on all that grumpiness please Schad? It's the first I've heard of any of it.

As much as I can.

The parents being upset by the lack of progress to the first team was mentioned initially, IIRC, by DLTW, in reference to one of our youth keepers. It was then seemingly confirmed by Guan:

That same post notes that other departments have expressed discontent with Koeman.

The manager being upset comes from Koeman's public statements beginning in December that we're the only team in the Prem taking in more than we spend on transfers, and stating that we'll need to spend more or risk falling behind.

The comment regarding the scouts came from CBK, yesterday, noting that youth players are being recommended but not signed, and something strange is going on (to the consternation of the scout):

Regarding the inconsistent messaging, that's just the slightly odd disconnect between Reed's gushing about our intent to break down the doors of the top four, and Ralph suggesting more realistic aims. Could just be two people with one vision but slightly different levels of enthusiasm, still strikes me as an odd note.

I'm really confused by the Koeman/academy talk. Surely Ronald will know that the academy is a critical part of our business plan etc., so for him to ignore it seems very odd and kinda self-destructive. Does it take up that much of a manager's time? I just don't get why he would be like that, with this in mind. It'll be his own self-realised downfall if it's true. Odd.

If youth players are being recommended but there is no follow up, doesn't that fall on Reed? It doesn't seem likely that Koeman is sticking his nose in to tell Saints NOT to sign Academy products.

Bologna are set to make an offer forSouthampton midfielder Gaston Ramirez, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Ramirez, who joined the Saints in 2012, sees his deal run out in June, and would be returning to his former club.

Probably the best for the both parties, a big shame but hey-ho not everything in life, let alone football, works out perfectly.
