Express linking us with Remy. Wouldn't be bad as a backup? http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...s-Spurs-blow-Arsenal-defender-manager-pay-off
Got to be made up, I can't see either club doing business with each other to be honest. I have always rated Remy, I'm not sure why Chelsea have never given him a run of games.
He was superb for MK Dons last season and has made the step up look effortless, somehow. Played in several roles, looked comfortable in all of them and nutmegged everyone along the way. Very good news.
The new striker problem is a dilemma. I agree Son doesn’t work as a Kane replacement. The problem is that Son isn’t getting enough miinutes. The new striker also wouldn’t get enough minutes. And he’d have to be better there than Son is. Son is not the player to lead the line, but we looked like a pretty good side with him trying to do just that. Add it all up, it’s a mess. I think the best idea is to see if any of our youngsters are at all suitable there. In an ideal world, we just signed our new striker.
Eric Dier reacts to Alli signing his new contract: Congratulaions @delealli36maybe time for some new gear now?
Great news. Keeping this group of players together is so important for the momentum we're starting to pick up as a club. Just need the striker version of Alli and we're set.
Berahino's supposedly turned down moves to Stoke and Newcastle as he wants to force a move to WHL, Remy's been linked with a loan (but I expect the Chavs to play silly buggers and sell him to someone else at the last minute), Dembele II's name continues to bounce around, while Shilow Tracey has been "set to sign" since mid-November. Vorm's been linked with a move to Everton to understudy Tim Howard, which makes little sense to me - after all, he'll just be swapping one bench for another. If he does go, that probably means we'd be in the market for a goalkeeper as well...and the first thing that sprang to mind is QPR telling Rob Green to find a new club by the end of the January window. We've also supposedly rejected a £10m bid from Watford for Townsend, because it doesn't meet our £14m valuation/he'll be greatly reducing the outlay for Berahino (delete as you feel appropriate), while talks with Sevilla over Fazio are ongoing, which reminds me of that scene in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey more than anything else.
For anyone that's not been keeping up with this, he has a clause that would mean an automatic extension if he plays five more games. He'd only get another year, but he's 35 now and they're struggling to pay his wages. Hasselbaink's denied that it's a problem, though. His teammate Charlie Austin missed their FA Cup loss on the weekend, which is nice for anyone looking to pick up a non-cup tied striker. Nobody seem to be interested though, for some reason.
Strange that. There must be something known in football circles about him that isn't in the public domain. Only reason I can think of why there seems to be no interest.
Maybe he's already said that he won't leave London or won't join a relegation threatened team? Maybe both? Could be injuries too, I guess. Does seem odd though, doesn't it?
Anyone else seen this? http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/35291772 Caulker joins the Mousers on loan.
If Chelsea are willing to do business with us over Remy I'd hope the club will be all over it, think he's a very good striker. Still surprised no one has been strongly linked with Austin yet. Could probably be got for about £6m-£8m now.

Random player being linked with us of the day: Eibar's 23 year-old striker Borja Baston, who's been on good form this season with eleven goals, has the physical attributes to play on his own up front - and happens to be out of contract in the summer. In more concrete news, Conor Ogilvie's loan at Stevenage has been extended for another month
Impressive stats going by wiki. Looks to be somewhat of a forgotten man at Atleti. 2011–2012 → Murcia (loan) 20 (4) 2012–2013 → Huesca (loan) 31 (9) 2013–2014 → Deportivo La Coruña (loan) 34 (10) 2014–2015 → Zaragoza (loan) 39 (23) 2015– → Eibar (loan) 17 (9)
If Chelsea were willing, it would mean Remi has a chronic injury, or will hurt our club in some other way in their probably correct opinion, IMO. But not getting Austin is stranger and stranger to me.
