Come on Hatem you'd fight anyone behind a screen and a keyboard especially if their grammar is incorrect

He's a midfield striker who can play in goal, £1.5m sees a bargain for such a versatile player.

I've no idea why I'd got it into my head that he was a keeper. <doh>

Good. We need cover at left back. He seems ideal

HDM: SB: "I would love to go and strengthen us in certain areas but I don't think the funds are available".

    No final push then.

Boro think Bamford is going to a Premier League club, so are now going after McCormack.

Championship next season then, that underlines the ambitions the owners have.

"I would love to go and strengthen us in certain areas, every manager would, but I don't think the funds are available," said the City boss ahead of today's trip to Loftus Road. "That's fair enough after what we've done in the last couple of years.

"If there's someone we can take on loan then I'll try and act. The big one is that we don't want to lose anyone at all but if there's someone out there who can improve us then we'll have a look at it.

"The beauty of the Championship is that you can get a loan to help you in the short-term. That's the area I'll be looking at if I can. I would like someone who is proven but that market is very, very difficult."

Despite a place in next season's Premier League set to guarantee each club a £120m windfall through a new TV deal, there appears to be no prospect of City embarking on a spending spree to boost their promotion hopes.

Funds could be made be available for the right signing but Bruce is willing to bide his time.

One area for attention will be central midfield after City saw Isaac Hayden recalled by parent club Arsenal yesterday.

The 20-year-old could still feature at QPR this evening but a lack of first-team football has led to the Gunners terminating what was meant to be a season-long stay in East Yorkshire. Another forward is also on Bruce's wish-list.

"Isaac will return to Arsenal so that leaves us a bit short in midfield but everywhere else I feel we're okay," said Bruce.

"If a striker became available we'd be interested because the more of them you have the better."

Bruce's relaxed stance owes much to the belief he holds in his current squad. Both Michael Dawson and Alex Bruce are likely to be back in action within a fortnight, while City's attacking options will soon be enhanced by Adama Diomande and Robert Snodgrass reaching match fitness.

The Tigers remain vulnerable to the threat of Premier League teams triggering the buy-out clauses of several first-team stars but Bruce says there has been no calls to answer yet.

"All these different things swirl around but my phone has been very quiet and I hope it stays that way," he added. "I know agents are trawling around some of our players.

"That happens and I can't stop it. The key for us is hanging on to what we've got and I'll do my utmost to make sure all of them stay. I think we're fine when we've got everyone back fit."

No, I want us to achieve everything that we can, however unless things drastically change today at the dramas then I can't see us getting promoted. We currently appear to have a 'couldn't give a ****' mindset away from home, and if that continues we're clearly not going up. The point that you missed was that I enjoy the Championship and Championship football, so it wouldn't be the end of my world if we didn't go up this season.

    Stop been dosile ****.

Is £60m not enough to build a squad for promotion from the championship?

I wouldn't expect your phone to ring Steve, the fact you keep churning out this ****e about fighting off pl clubs coming in for your players proves you haven't watched much of your team this season. Which is probably why your unable to change things

This is obviously code for we will sell our unwanted lazy, money-grabbing players, but not for less than the clauses in their contacts state.
