If Arsenal buy someone of note I would be surprised. After all, Wenger has helped our owner in Colorado build his sporting empire, one which it must be said, wins nothing but makes money..... Wenger sold his soul for the 7m he picks up each year. Fans should recognise this
According to David Ornstein Arsenal are in talks FC Basel to sign Egyptian midfielder Mohammed Elneny
Would be a decent addition to shore up the midfield. He's had a good season for Basel and looks like he's ready to make the step up to the premier league.
BBC reporting the Elneny transfer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/footba..._the_day&ns_source=facebook&ns_linkname=sport
Well that is promising, though interesting that the bbc report (i assume they've taken the info from ornstein) has said hes a long term target. Long term we already have santi, ramsey, wilshere, rosicky and oxo competing in that position, so when all fit hes going to have to be very good to get a sniff of 1st team football.
I'd love to know the % of games those five have all been simultaneously available for in the last three years.
Rosicky, Arteta and Flamini are all out of contract this summer and **** knows whether Wilshere is ever going to get an extended run in the team. Midfield reinforcements are a priority
The Management need to get those reinforcements now rather than wait until the summers. 3 of those 4 players haven't factored for us this season and will most likely not contribute significantly for the remainder. That's why its paramount that we strengthen now and try winning the league. This will be Wenger's best chance.
According to the Metro,Elneny has told an Egyptian website that he's had a medical and agreed terms to join Arsenal
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-news-live-arsenal-prepare-7090675 Arsene Wenger has just given his pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Newcastle on Saturday. Talk turned to transfers and the Frenchman admitted that Arsenal WILL be busy in January. “I’ve already said we are a bit short. “We will be busy”
7 reasons why Arsenal should re-sign Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas Read more: http://metro.co.uk/2015/12/29/7-rea...chelseas-cesc-fabregas-5589506/#ixzz3vncxYR9z Interesting but I can't see it happening.
I still want Grzegorz Krychowiak at Arsenal. I think Kokorin might happen this January. Could be a good addition.
Agree with this. We should have signed him back before he went to Chelsea. 1. He wanted to come back to Arsenal. 2. For the price he was still a bargain. Seems like Arsene didn't sign him out of pride. He would have been a quality addition to this squad.
I can think of 7 reasons this won't happen! 1. We dont need him, we sre well stocked with creative playmakers (the reason wenger didn't sign him before) 2. His legs are gone and he keeps getting caught out of position. 3. Santi and Ozil are much better 4. (An important one!) he is toxic for the dressing room and morale in the club 5. He is under contract with Chelsea, no way they'd sell him, particularly to a rival, halfway through a season they've been awful in. 6. He's 33, on big wages, would cost a lot for uncertain return (particularly medium and long term) 7. We need a physical dm not a playmaker.
