Traditionally we Budgies prefer you to lose, but may I say how delighted I am that you beat QPHA, horrible little club! <ok>

Yeah definitely wasn't a pretty game to watch. Still a win though, and a happy trip back down the A12

Well, a win is a win, three points are three points, and sixth place is a play-off spot. I had us down to get a draw before the match so, scrappy performance aside, we've done better than I, and a few others on here, expected. The losses against Middlesbrough and Derby should highlight the limitations of this squad, but we're clearly punching above our weight in this division (yet again), and notching up some impressive victories recently.

Put simply, I'm surprised we're sixth and maybe some of us, and I include myself in this camp, are being too harsh on Mick, the players, and the club in general. Of course, if we lose our next couple of difficult away games, maybe there will be a sense of getting 'dragged back down to earth' a bit, particularly as this board tends to come alive when we're hitting a bad run of form. Looking at our results, since November, they've generally been impressive and we're looking dark horses for another tilt at promotion this season. Come to think about it, that's a remarkable achievement, considering the lack of investment in this squad and the comparative financial outlay of the dozen clubs around us.

Great result today which is all that matters but generally a typical Ipswich performance. Back 4 and Gerks were excellent I thought. Still lacking creativity in midfield though with too many hopeful hoofs as usual. When we do keep the ball down, making some nice pass and moves, it's a bit short lived and ends up with us getting impatient and knocking it forward which of course generally ends up giving the ball away.

Sears was wasted today on the wing but tried hard as ever. Pitman did well but Murph didn't get much opportunity during the game. QPR didn't look better than us by any stretch and hoofed about as much we did to be honest.
All in all a pretty forgettable game but couldn't help wondering why people started leaving on 85mins. Nothing better than a stoppage time winner!

I managed to record the goals but for some reason can't upload from an iPhone onto here.

Phew, another marathon Festive period, but I do hope this finds you all in good heart, good cheer and not to too hungover or over endulged! I missed the game entirely as family games took over. But, hey, another 3 pts, not pretty ;erhaps, and yes, we all agree we would love to see a flowing, attacking, passing game, but, with Bish and Bru...Hyam?? to come back as options, we can all say........

Great job done 1st half season
    Well done Mick
Bloody fantastic effort all the players who have given their not so talented efforts in most games

We are 6th and toughening it out with 2-3 others! 2 changes are clear: Fraser in, Freddie up top.

Just give us a bit more entertainment in 2016...........please!

Castro pretty much summed it up for me. A mainly forgettable game but one in which during the second half we did try to do a bit more with the ball in patches but didn't seem comfortable with the style. I thought the QPR striker made our defence look rattled at times but they didn't seem to able to trouble the goal.
AMN just isn't a first team player for me. He has talent but is lightweight and goes missing far to often. During Frasers earlier run in the team I must admit to not being too impressed but his last couple of outings have been the spark to ignite our performances. He has to be worthy of a starting place now. Murphy has also had two very quiet games in a row for me.
I don't want to dwell too much on the negatives. It wasn't a pretty game but the spirit and attitude saw us through and for that the team needs praise.

" During Frasers earlier run in the team I must admit to not being too impressed "

4 goals in 8 and absolutely tearing it up on the wing earlier in the season, seriously!? The boy is class.

I think with AMN he's been asked to change his style a bit more, and first and foremost do the ugly side of the game rather than do what comes naturally to him. Earlier in the season Mick took the shackles off the wide boys but we were shipping goals for fun. We've certainly tightened up a the back however aren't quite so attractive attacking wise.

How did Oar do when he entered the pitch?
