When TWS were champions they were the only champions in history not to win a single away game.

... Pique, Pogba, Lukaku, De Bruyne, Scott Sinclair, Schurrle, Diego Forlan, Cuadrardo, ... there are plenty of others who moved to those clubs for big bucks and then had to move on again to reignite careers ..

Cheers for the many compliemts - as you might expect we are loving life in football terms right now..

Just to address some of the remarks made ... neither Mahrez nor Vardy were nailed on starters last season .. even during the wonderful escape .. both have been transformed by Ranieri's belief in them and the way the team has been set up to allow them to play at their best ... but we are far more than a one man team ..

Can we keep it going who knows - but we have now only lost 2 in 28 prem games - to champions Chelsea last season and to a very good Arsenal side this (although the scoreline did flatter them a bit - not the result - they deserved to win) ...

Will we sell in January? - very much doubt it - we don't need to - the owners stated ambition was to challenge for Europe within 5 years of promotion - we are ahead of the game on that so why would the owners sell and undermine it?

I think the football landscape is changing - the top clubs are no longer able to strong arm the other Prem teams into selling their best players = as Everton and West Brom demonstrated - for me that makes for a far more healthy and interesting EPL..

Football is about dreams and that's where we are right now - and it's just great

When was this? The White ****e have won the league three times and I just checked and they won a number of away games in each season.

I believe he meant the following season (92/93), when they were the current title holders.

Worst finish by defending champions in the PL era (even though they didn't win the PL).

Leeds didn't get an away win for eight years once.

Precisely Quill. I said when they were Champions, therefore the season after they won it, in the same way that Chelsea are the champions now.

Fair play to Leicester; to survive from the position they were in last season was incredible and to carry that form into the position they have achieved so far this season is utterly incredible. As City fans we have achieved things in recent times we couldn't (well I couldn't) have dreamed of 10 years ago and had moments I will never forget. Enjoy your time Leicester fans I know I bloody would (and have) and as a supporter of a less fashionable club I am far happier that you can - than one of the so called bigger teams.

What do you reckon will happen in Jan then, with the wealth of your owners and you being in a once in a lifetime position it makes sense to try and consolidate your position with some quality signings. You won't have a better opportunity of attracting the quality of players that you will in Jan. Obviously there will be the pitfalls on investing too much, the wrong sorts of players, too many players, players to unsettle the squad etc, but if you could bring in say 3 quality players then I reckon you would honestly have a chance of at least pushing for a top 4 place, which would be an extraordinary achievement.

Thanks for clearing that up. As usual BumChinnedCrab was very imprecise in his language.

The thing is, they're literally the only team who are being consistently good. I dont mean this in a disrespectful way to Lester but the other challengers this year are possibly the worst top 6 ever. Every other team seems to have a wobble once every six weeks yet Lester just keep going like a brilliant ****ing metronome. They wont sell in January in a million years so, if injuries are kind, I really see no reason whatsoever why they cant win the thing.

The only blot I can see is Arsenal drawing Barca and getting knocked out. If they'd drawn a team they should beat and kept going in Europe then I honestly would be lumping on Lester to win now cos neither Man U or Citeh have a chance of winning it in my eyes. Utd are far too lacking and Citeh far too inconsistent and preoccupied with Europe.

How was it imprecise to say 'when they were champions?' I dont understand how that can taken any other way than, erm, 'when they were champions'.

It's a difficult one ... additions might upset the current team ethic and camraderie - which has been great ... but we could do with strengthening further ... for me a quality right back and central defender are the most obvious ... (mainly because Wes and Huth won't go the whole season without a yellow card ban <laugh>)

We are already being linked with a cut price Nigel de Jong plus Hector Carillo - both quality players and not currently getting a look in at their respective clubs ... but would hey damage the team ethos as alluded to.

All I can say is that it is a pretty nice dilemma ...ie much preferrable to the one we were facing this time last season <laugh>

Yeah I saw De Jong being linked in yesterday's Italian press. I cant see him upsetting the applecart to be honest, I know he's Dutch but he's generally regarded as being a decent, no trouble type. You'd probably get him for free to be honest, he's on £3m a year at Milan and they want him off the wage bill.

If you has said 'defending' champions then there would have been no confusion.

Who are the champions of the Premier League?

If we'd had this same conversation at this time last season, who wouldve been champions?

It wont be us with Bruce in charge in the same way as they wouldn't be where they are with Pearson in charge ( he and Bruce are form the same 0-0, 1-0 is a good result mentality ) and he still would have been if it hand;t been for his sons shenanigans. They've only spent £23 million and recouped £9 million. If you look at their team man for man, with one or two exceptions we would stand up to them, Pearson as he did here did some fantastic things in the transfer market unlike our glorious leader. What their new manager has given them is freedom and belief, something that is not be instilled in our football team and all the time Bruce is here, we will have the same served up.

You obviously didn't watch them last season, they were playing exactly the same as they are now, they just didn't convert it into results until the latter part of the season.

You see, your post is ambiguous again.
