I doubt people give a **** about their warehouse staff earning £6.50 an hour, they're more than happy to buy the stuff when the people making the gear don't even earn £6.50 a day. As long as people get cheap prices, they'll ignore everything else, it's why our high streets are full of Primark, Sports Direct and Poundland.

Those poor employees don't get to use a computer.

Why exactly is Mike Ashley a twat?

That article is nowt more than a load of oversoft liberal bollocks.

I imagine this is the norm in lots of warehouses, doesnt make it right but Id guess this is hardly the exception.

A personal anecdote is when I worked (doing PR, not marketing) at the head office of a well known national supermarket I was stunned to find that my post was opened before it was delivered to me. When I enquired why, it transpired that the mailroom were instructed to open all mail / parcels sent to head office staff and any gifts - a bottle of wine or chocolates from a happy client perhaps - were confiscated and then resold to customers for 100% profit.

I **** you not.

So the Guardian would be happy if Ashley modernised and computerised his operation and laid off 2/3 of the staff would they?

I can't imagine why they'd treat unskilled, minimum wage earners with a keen eye given they are the majority of their customers and who'd miss a few items of clothing in a warehouse that size eh?

That really is liberal bollocks of a standard the average Daily Mail reader would swallow if there was a right wing bias added.

I don't like the bloke very much, although he's doing a grand job at Newcastle Utd, but that sort of article really doesn't help build a case against him as a bad bloke.

He didn't try to have him arrested, he tried to get him sent to prison. The judge rejected the application yesterday, but King still faces further court action for breaching a confidentiality agreement.

What kind of twat would try and get someone sent to prison for illegally breaching a confidentiality agreement?

Some people...

It's as if he thinks the law exists for a reason.

It doesn't go over all Ashley's/Sports Direct's previous twattery, so might seem a bit light.

Ashley is a ****. Nobody should be surprised by his Victorian workhouse values because, as previously mentioned, he's a ****. He deserves to be kicked into a coma & then pissed upon.
