Keeping Robertson, Maguire and Dawson is key for me. If Hudd leaves (a lower Prem team might take a punt) then either Coady at Wolves or Norwood at Reading to replace him. Striker-wise, I literally have no idea. If we are going to play without strikers, then some Spanish players would be a a good idea. Whoever the top scorer in the Liga Adalente is. That guy.
Huddlestone just isn't suited to the Championship, he is better suited to the EPL, where teams allow you to have the ball in your own half, this suits his game.
Aluko is still playing for Aluko Uniuted and not Hull City. From the little I have seen this season "The Hudd" appears to have lost his touch but there doesn't seem anybody to pass to these days. Elmo isn't even a shadow of his former self and I really have no explanation for what appears to be total disinterest. Hernandez has 'come into his own' at this level but still needs the ball 'laid on' and we don't appear to have the kind of players with the talent to do this - will be gone next month if a smell of an offer comes in anyway). Clucas, Hayden, Akpom and Odubajo are hopelessly overrated for my money. On the brighter side we still have a formidable defence with Robertson and Maguire still works in progress and Snoddy to get back. Impressed with Maloney and with Diomande still to pull on some boots (heavy weight of expectation on his shoulders) we shouldn't need THAT much but one (or two) new strikers (and I mean STRIKERS - y'know, forwards who can put the ball in the back of the net every 3 or 4 games) but it again comes down to who would want to come to Hull City as it appears we still have that stigma of "Hull Who"?
We need the following: Keeper (Cover/First Choice) Left back Centre Half (Cover) Central Midfielder (Like Meyler) Centre Forwards (Minimum 2) one preferably with a proven track record in this league and one up and coming lower league gamble. Without making those signings we don't have the firepower to maintain a push for promotion or the strength in depth to cover injuries. I never ever want to see Odubajo at left back again. We should have tried keeping Rosenior - his versatility at being able to cover LB and RB with ease is sorely missed.
Apparently we need to say 'bye' to Jakupovic, Luer, Taylor, Davies and Huddlestone... http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/5-...ent-page-1/#comment-26826#HfJymIDktyVCcMrK.97 Football League World post a lot of really ill-informed stuff.
I don't know whether this is true or not but looks a good prospect. Hull City are plotting a January move for highly-rated Wycombe goalkeeper Matt Ingram, according to a report by HITC Sport. The 21 year-old has impressed for League Two side Wycombe this season which has made him a target for the Tigers. Ingram has also been subject of interest from other championship clubs so it is no surprise he has caught the attention of Hull boss Steve Bruce. please log in to view this image Hull’s current first-team goalkeeper is Allan McGregor, however his contract expires in the summer. Therefore, the Tigers have been on the hunt for a new goalkeeper. The championship side saw bids for Southend’s Dan Bentley and Legia Warsaw’s Dusan Kuciak rejected in the summer. City’s pursuit of a new goalkeeper may end in January if interest in Wycombe’s Matt Ingram materialises. The 21 year-old was voted League Two’s highest ranked goalkeeper in the Football League Awards last season. It is that type of form that has made the likes of Hull interested in him. http://the72.co.uk/41525/hull-targeting-highly-rated-wycombe-goalkeeper/
To be honest I was a bit underwhelmed from the beginning. Sure he had some good games early on but I thought we were getting an amazing player when he signed and he was gonna get all these goals and assists...
