Get a good enough manager and he can do the DOF role too. I wouldn't be surprised if we held on to CR much longer than we needed to because he was LF's mate.

I don't really see the need for a DOF and Chief Exec. Hoos has a great track record in his role. Ferdinand.... was a very good footballer once.

To prove there is no logic in our management, TF wants a return to the PL next season but seemedly, wants to appoint a numpty from a lower league so our glorious DoF doesn't feel threatened.
On top of that, he needs to be good.
Won't happen.

If a manager is coming from the lower leagues then he isn't necessarily a numpty, particularly if it's someone successful like Edinburgh. Rather that than a big name who thinks he's doing us a favour.

Gary Rowett proved you can make the grade at a higher level, that shouldn't come into it. My concern about JFH is he inherited Rowett's team so hasn't built a side himself...

Well you've identified the problem then haven't you? The people picking the manager haven't got a ****ing clue what they are doing, and there is no reason to believe that they will fluke a good decision this time, or provide an environment that supports success. Even if we get a name most people on here like, as Nines says, it pretty certain that it will end in tears, and sooner rather than later.

This should be a sticky thread, saves us the bother of starting a new next manager thread in a few months time...:emoticon-0148-yes:<laugh>

however, too many lower league managers fail when they move up. Would you risk the clubs future on an unknown? I would not. For every Edinburgh there's a Chris powell

Indeed, but then I'd see it as a bigger risk to go for a big name like Seedorf or even Sherwood, who is just useless. Pearson, if he'd go for it, would be ideal, but I'd rather a young guy with ideas and experience working on a budget than another Hughes/Redknapp who sees us as a step down

It needs levelling?

Ideally yes. The last time I went was with some mates who support Bury for a huge top of the table game towards the end of the season. Blistering sunshine and hundreds of Bury fans drinking outside. A woman got run over by a motorbike outside the pub so my lasting image of the place is of several hundred fat Lancastrians singing Bury songs while paramedics attended to a quite badly injured middle-aged woman. Good times.

That and Marcus Bean punching the ball in. We didn't win away for about a year before or after that.

Good shout run a comp to determine who our next next manager maybe

Sure why not ....... and while where at it, we could also have 'League Prediction' poll to see what division we'll be in. I'm prepared to even consider a fantasy bet for both manager and division combination!
