I think if they included the 'ffs' in the name, it could be thought of as negative. Then, I'm no marketing expert.
Back in the day you only needed an hour. Imagine being in there til 5am...you could drink yourself sober in that time. Own up all those that left with a minger, I will start the ball rolling. It was the one place you didn't mind if you didn't score
You could go in Tower with two heads, both of them ****-ugly, and still score something to empty your sacks into. What a ****in' dive it was.
A mate of mine once said to a bird "Any chance of a dance"..she said no. His reply was "suppose oral sex is out of the question then" It took a while for him to get up off the floor
Spiritually, I'm forever stuck to the Tower floor. Held for all time in a metaphorical tacky, cheap carpet. Adhesified by beery residues on the souls (geddit) of my shoes, holding my literal and symbolic being in a transient hour of eternal repetition. Constantly reliving the gravitational pull of..... Ffs Ernie, man. Pull yourself together.
Had some good nights in Tower Some good nights in Earl de Gray on Wed nights , stripper (before there was a cage ) anything went, iv some things I'll never see again happen in my life I reckon Then onto LA's for over 25s night , pick up married bird / bored housewife gaggin for a decent shag Great memories
There were some decent gigs at the Tower, I remember getting backstage at a Bow Wow Wow gig and desperately trying to get Annabella to come to the Welly. I failed miserably and I suspect the guitarist wanted to twat me.
I think it was tower where me and a mate told some lasses we were a rally driver and navigator. They fell for it. Though with hindsight, such a boldacious pick up line was probably wasted in there.
That ****ty, sticky carpet. Cheers, Ern, for reminding me... [Edit: Tower or Trog Bar - which was worst/stickiest carpet?]
Only one winner there Stanley, that carpet in the Trog Bar was like ****in' velcro. Different subject; did your friend ever contact you re. the Raving one?
My 'orrible Tower story - mother and daughter. ****s sake. I had that well buried and forgotten. I was 19 and the daughter was late twennies...yolo etc...
