Why will it surprise anyone? He's done what every fan has been begging him to do ever since he put Martial on the left wing (to hone his striker skills) ie play him as a striker. If it works out then it just begs the question as to why he stuck him on the left wing in the first place.

CSKA are pretty poor. Rooney's played well but Herrera's just a better passer and playmaker than Rooney. I've been very impressed with our wide players. With someone like Herrera, the wide men stretch the defence to provide space for our midfield to pass through the middle.
