That's not what happened, it started off with what I assumed was a Milk joke about Putin, so I played along and made a similarly useless statement. I stated as much in a following post. The others took it from there, I only respond. I did say 9\11 is nothing in terns of the point Milk was trying to make about me personally, guess ye missed that? <laugh>

So reading through is not your strong point then, nor Bodanki's either :bandit:

The term conspiracy theory is used to shut down debate. That is it's sole purpose.

I guess you forget Hillsborough was a conspiracy theory.. the government is watching everything we do was another, also true as it turned out after 2 deacades of ridicule for those that claimed it. :D

You do know that is how the police operate against organised crime, they theorise conspiracies based on evidence and try prove them <laugh>

I only ever discussed 9\11 in any extensive way, one issue. Only most of the world don't believe the official story like <laugh>

Absolutely. people should be proud, interested in their heritage, but being 'proud' of your race (and looking down on others) is like thinking you're superior because you're not left-handed or red-headed. Utterly preposterous, if you step back and think of it.

That must make you an expert, then? :)

"Science is the belief in the ignorance of the experts" says an expert.

Seriously, though Sis- you surely don't believe that most of us think Western society is perfect and our governments are all angels?

First of all who said the word "expert"?
Secondly, what we have with people these days is, one does research and a lot of reading of various sources and gets an idea of the subject and as time goes by you get to know the subject matter well.

Along comes someone who has done neither the hundreds if not thousands of hours of reading, no research and dismisses everything out of hand.

Sound familiar? How can you tell me anything I say is not true if you never even checked yourself? Food for though for all the underachieving mouth breathers out there who think they know better without putting the effort in to verify anything themselves. :D

Milk himself became an expert on a subject in 3 minutes, Part of my country's history like.. ad told me I am wrong in a condescending way, arrogance? Ignorance?

Lmao at Russia not occupying or invading anyone. Um... Did you miss the 20th century for half of it they occupied half of Europe. This very year they invaded and occupied portions of Ukraine. A few years ago they invaded and took territories from Georgia. They still occupy Chechnya, Tuva and many other countries in central asia against the will of the people... Other countries whose names I don't recall because they're weird central-asian sounding and I can't be arsed to Google. <ok>

You see the world as black and white. Russia is this saintly good nation and the UK/US is bad in everything they do. Reality is; that that isn't true. There's good and bad about all countries.

<laugh> I never claimed to be an expert I (as did others) merely fact-checked your claim and found it to be just another silly conspiracy theory based on "UK bad".

Hey I know all governments do some sort of snidey, insidious ****.
There are probably thousands of instances of our government doing dodgy stuff in order to gain a political or financial foothold in some dealing or other.
Anyone who thinks governments aren't prepared to allow some "collateral damage" in the name of their main agenda is fooling themselves.

Most conspiracies can be debunked with one word....."why?"

Where I stand on the main ones.

    Roswell - **** off

JFK - Dodgy as **** from what I have read. Something smells about this one. I think possible CIA involvement. Though I am no expert.

9/11 - At most I would say the US government got advanced warning of the attack and failed to act either because, a) They didn't take it seriously or B) They thought they could use the incident to further their political agenda in the middle East. I don't buy anything about CGI planes, Holograms, or bombs. Why not just say Al Qaeda bombed it, why even go with the trouble of adding planes and risking all that bullshit. If it were bombed then why not just say it was bombed? The planes would be a stupid lie that would unravel everything really fast, especially since a million eye witnesses would say "Well, we saw both explosions and no planes!". Not only would you need to explain why no one saw planes, but also fabricate the lives and stories of hundreds of passengers who were supposed to be on the planes. You would need the co-operation of the airlines too. If you think those planes, and passengers, existed, but the US government shot them down and lied that they were used to crash in to the WTC, when they could just say it was bombed then.................honestly, why? Why add planes into the equation ffs.

Sandy Hook - Grow the **** up. That there is some Tom Clancy type ****.

    I did.
That's the word for someone who has extensive knowledge of a subject.

" The ignorance of experts" is a clear oxymoron. One can only assume Feynman was being ironic when he made that statement.

It's funny, folks that can't be arsed doing even a miniscule few hours of research show up, with google on another tab and say it's all wrong <laugh>

I mean if you can't be arsed actually putting in the work, why would you bother getting into the debate one might wonder? Usually it's because people disagree because of their own perceived paradigm.

Anyone here read the wiki cables? documents? Snowden leaks? Biographies from key people? Chomsky? Harris? Thousands of regional historical accounts and local historians. Declassified documents.

The required reading is immense. No matter what the subject immediately every time I have people on my ass telling me I am wrong or it's a conspiracy theory when there is not even a conspiracy is being discussed, just historical references.

When someone is saying something about a subject I don't know much about, I shut my mouth. If I am interested I reserch it before I form an opinion. Yet all I read is unsupported opinions and personal ridicule, not that I care. The ignorance of others has no bearing on myself whatsoever :D

No that is not an expert lad, sorry. If I had studied politics and history and travelled around the world personally investigating, then I could be considered an expert.

But the reality is I am using the work of experts in forming my opinions, there is a world of difference, and you missed it

    <laugh> <ok>

Well if everyone thinks I am talking nonsense, why are they so determined to argue with me for the past 4 years <laugh> I know why, because it challenges how they see the world.

I don't think anyone on here sees the world as polarised as 'US=good/Russia=bad', or indeed any facet of history like that. In fact, there's a preposterous versions of history that goes along the lines of 'Winners=bad, losers=victims/good'. That's not analysing: it's post-fact moralising. Look up the history of the country you live in, Sis, in regards to the USSR. How the Soviets signed a pact with Nazis and invaded it in '39 (and got their arses kicked!), and how they occupied it in '45. As it happened, as we'd just based Bomber Command in Norway they probably thought they had good reason to create Eastern Bloc 'buffer' states. As it happens, the west had every right to be wary of a victorious Stalin with 100's of divisions occupying all of eastern and central Europe.

    Bloody complex, geopolitics, isn't it?

Classic copout which proves my point about people not being arsed to be informed, just arsed enough to tell me they disagree <laugh>
