Not sure you lot are going to get on with Klopp long term.
You all think he is a great manager, he is a believer in the high, fast press (Brendan anyone?).
You all think he will set the team up better, he plays Lallana and Coutinho together yet many of you agree they cant play together.
Many of you want Milner out (he is not good enough), Klopp thinks he is the perfect player.
So far it seems his ideas go against what many of you want, is he the right man for you?

He's won stuff, Brendan hasn't. He has set up with a similar style at 2 of his last clubs, Brendan was inconsistent in his choice of tactics, formation and personnel. His style of relentless pressing and possession football was undermined with his obsession of non ball playing players in key positions like Mignolet, Skrtel, Lovren & big target men like Balotelli & Benteke.

Almost nobody has said Lallana and Coutinho shouldn't play together, its just that the formation and the players around them has to be suitable for them to both thrive.

Klopp has said he's the perfect player but he's hardly going to lambast him and call him ****e, is he? Let's remember Rodgers' words about Balotelli when he joined compared to how he actually treated him while he was at the club.

Yeah, cant see him getting much game time under Klopp.

So, does Klopp pick the wrong formation and play them anyway then?

I think he mentioned 3 or 4 players, Milner was the only one to receive such praise.

Nor me, but it depends if Sturridge is fit or not, which doesn't seem like something we can count on, so its between Benteke & Origi until at least January. I'd personally prefer Benteke out of those 2 because he's more of a goal threat (even if I'm not his biggest fan) but Klopp seems to really like Origi and he does seem to suit his high energy style more than Benteke at least.

Yes, I think our current formation is wrong for the personnel we have at the moment. There's not enough men going into the box at the moment as Origi is goal shy and doesn't seem to know where to make the dangerous runs and Coutinho/Lallana have never been the type of players that regularly get into the box and score lots of goals it means opposition defenders get such an easy game with everything being played ahead of them. Also I think its a mistake to have the full backs providing the width for the team because they aren't the best crossers of the ball so even when we manage to play them in, in good positions, they don't make the right decision or the cross is poor like we saw with Moreno countless times today. But again that's basically Rodgers and the committee's fault as we only have 1 real wide player at the club anyway (Ibe) because of our few years of shambolic transfers.

Also the praise Klopp gave Milner suggests he really likes him.

I think he's better than 9 out of 10 people on here give him credit too.

He's a workhorse that wins the ball back, presses and breaks up opposition play before they get on our half. His composure is a little off. His passing and shooting is often sloppy but if Klopp can tighten him up he could become a very valuable team member.

Klopp doesn't have much choice on who plays at the moment. We're not over abundant with fit first team players.

I believe that we have appointed a very good manager in Klopp. Rodgers was going nowhere and klopp will improve the team and our position in the league. And more importantly he has to be given patience and enough time to work into his system.

What I am a bit disapproving of (being an older fan) is this fawning over him as a superstar and a saviour of our club. We are a great club with or without him and we should not behave as if he is doing us some little club a favour by joining us.

We are happy he joined us as he is happy to be with us. I just think the behaviour of some of the fans elevating him to a status he himself finds intimidating and puts more pressure on him, unseemly.

Let's get real and give him a chance to make mistakes <ok>

Under Rodgers, we are going to lo lose this game
How do you know? FFS can you and others stop pretending that Klopp has magical powers? He is a very good manager. Rodgers could well have drawn this match too. In fact he's drawn too many games. And he has beaten the saints. So please do not make as if Klopp has already proved he is several times superior to rodgers. And as yet he has not deserved to be elevated to a god-like status.

I just think that the majority are very happy with the appointment of a coach who has a proven record and who plays a style of football that compliments our club. Yes some of the reaction is over the top but again that's our club and if we believe something is right or good for us we trend to ride the wave regardless of where it takes us.
Rodgers had sucked the life out of us I didn't recognise a Liverpool team on the pitch, he abandoned his philosophy long ago and left us without an identity. What I saw yesterday was a team with an idea a style of play, hard work and attacking football. There are still flaws to be worked on and as Klopp has said the main one is to calm down (pun) relax and control instead of the desperate nature of the players.
I understand the fawning over Klopp it's just a relief to be rid of Rodgers.

One of the very rare sound bites that rang true from Rodgers was "Judge me in 3 seasons time" we did and that is true of any manager including Klopp 3 seasons is enough to implement a style of play get your own players in and have us playing well.

Oh dear <doh>

Milner is a very good player.. Who cares what he's being paid. What's done is done, judge him on his performances which have been no worse than many including the likes of Coutinho and Firmino.

Very good player based on what? Being a squad player at City?

Judge him on his performances? Ok then - he's been sh*t, despite playing 90mins in most games.

I'm sorry I'm not more enthused by merely running around like a headless chicken.

Without his assist yesterday, you get beaten.......

If his name was Milnerinho and he'd played in a championship winning side in Germany, you'd be ****ing off over his workrate, energy and overall contribution.

You wouldn't know a player if they kicked you in the plums.

Ford continues to struggle.. but the player the "ground my gears" yesterday was Can.. no end product, continued to give the ball away when an easier ball was on, that would have kept possession.. Klopp needs to have a word with his country man first...
Milner.. not sure what he did wrong yesterday, great cross for Benteke's goal, always backing up his FB.. going forward. I'll admit, not his best game..
Thought the little Cameo by Firmino was encouraging.. if Ford continues to struggle, I'd give him a kick up the backside and drop him for Firmino.
If we want to play full throttle football, then we need Hendo back, he may be limited (others have said, I personally think he's improving)
Southampton are a decent side, we handled them well enough for the most part, but given the injuries and Sturridge continuing to call in sick, he's limited in the team he can put out..
Also, he'll need at least 2/3 Windows to get "his" team in..
I could see some improvement yesterday, now the level of belief needs to rise..
