We should have kept Ince but even if we had he wouldn't have been used properly. Bruce doesn't like attacking players on the wing. If you're a nippy skillful player under Bruce you play up front or not at all. And we wonder why we never score.

**** off, people were complimenting the speed and movement from Derby, and rightly so, they were fantastic.

And how long ago was it people were saying Derby were struggling and Clement was out of his depth in this league? If you're going pick and choose when to judge a team on a solitary game then every team in the division would be something we should aspire to.

Nope, it mattered not who the team was, or how their previous performances had gone, totally irrelevant, people were simply wanting to know why our management couldn't get our team playing in a similar fashion, especially with the quality that we have in our squad.

It 100% totally does matter if they've been average at best all season and had 1 'fantastic' performance. Instead of asking why our management hasnt got us playing like that, a better question would be why hasnt Derby's manager got them playing like that every week?

    One fantastic performance?

It look them a while to figure out their best team and formation, but they've certainly done so now, the form table reads W/5 D/1 L/0 (GS 12/GA 4).

We look nowhere near having figured out our best team or formation and we still look completely pedestrian, hence the comparison.

Was it your post I was replying to?

And are we just overlooking the Newcastle element to my post?

A truly shambolic exhibition of defending by both sides but a good laugh at just how bad they were.

Only bettered by the Newcastle v Norwich PL game afterwards for even worse defending.

No, but it was your post I was responding to.

Yes, Newcastle barely got a mention on this thread.

It matters not, Lambo's response was bang on the money. Derby are looking the real deal whilst we appear to be still struggling for attacking fluidity, team balance, or even selection of the right players in the right positions.

Regarding Newcastle, I don't recall ever mentioning them, please post a link.

See my post#9 on this thread...namely "The man hasnt a clue how to play attacking football. I got up at 4.30 am (Canadian West Coast time) to watch the 1-1 bore draw yesterday against the Wendies. I was almost asleep again by half time. Newcastle are supposed to be relegation fodder in the Prem this year but they scored 6 today against Norwich playing some brilliant attacking football with their striker banging in 4 of them. It isnt that we have bad players. We have a s*** manager whose Plan A is the same boring brand of football game after game and he doesnt have a Plan B. And what bloody good is Phelan if this is what he's brought to the table."

My point was that a supposedly doomed to relegation team like Newcastle which I believe had scored only two goals at home this season were totally transformed when they went on the attack against Norwich's glaringly poor defense, running riot with 6 goals, with Wijnaldum (an attacking MF not Striker I'm told) banging in 4 of them. There is no reason why with a couple of adjustments, primarily in CMF, we could not emulate them if we got rid of Bruce and his stifling mentality and tactics.

BCC just likes to think of himself as a mischief maker Canada, I wouldn't let him get to you, no one else does. Everybody but him knew what you were getting at, probably him included, he just likes to post an opposing view in a poor attempt at being a WUM, when in actual fact he usually makes himself look a twat.

I just hope Bruce watched that Newcastle v Norwich game LBA. It should have been an object lesson to him. They both have totally crap defenses. We have arguably the best back three in the Championship and probably better than several Prem teams. Given that backing, why can we not risk unleashing the CMF to make runs through the middle as Newcastle did, notably in the second half, and make incisive through passes on the run rather than slowing every game down passing the ball backwards and sidewards, giving time for our opponents to cover back. There is no pressure on the other team. No wonder our strikers and wingers find themselves double-teamed when they finally get the ball.

Hernandez has to poach most of his goals from close in because he's NEVER given room to run from deep. It says a lot for his quick reactions and anticipation that he's got six and is already among the top scorers in the division. Gray must be happy to be at Burnley and scoring goals (two more on Saturday). He would never have had those chances with our style of play. BRUCE OUT!!
