Beasts of No Nation (film) now up on Netflix. Abraham Attah is brilliant, one of the greatest acting by a child ever. Idris Elba is also brilliant in it.

    Seems very good.

Having repaired a PS3 lately, what's the position on PS4 reliability.?

Obviously the first batch are pretty crap, I have already got a new one. But they are fine now.

Seems a shame that Sony and others have to do all their proper field testing on paying customers though.

Always the way with consoles tho. After getting the last 3 consoles on launch day I am use to it. Nothing can be as bad as the red ring of death for the Xbox 360, I had 3 of them....

Basically total hardware failure. They messed up making the XBox 360's which meant some circuit boards would warp from overheating and eventually break.

Well, the big problem I've identified of the PS3 is a massive lack of attention to the detail of the environment in which it was to be used. Plus there are woeful details in poor quality. The design was fine, from what I can see. The implementation of it was poor. The cooling system, though massive, is terrible. Things like the thermal coupling between the CPU, GPU and the heatsink is awful. No wonder the units often gave up.

Well might as well give a quick update in the off chance anyone remembers/cares. My dog is recovering well (despite a hole in his cheek) from the attack and i've decided not to proceed against the owner of the dogs that attacked. I've met the owner, who paid for my dogs vet bill along with having to a much larger one for his dog for a broken front leg (dont mess with a staffy) and the owner has shown me the new safety precautions he's added to his property to prevent it from happening again.

The council was informed...by a neighbour apparently, but unless i decide to pursue a claim the worst that will come of it is a fine and annual property inspections.

....I've also finally managed to get some rest after spending what felt like 5 days in transit.

Nope, but it's definitely on the list.

I don't know the ins and outs of it, but you should really read a book called A Long Way Gone by Ismael Beah - it's his account of being a child soldier in Sierra Leone - really is some read.
