They're hopes more than demands, but yes- any manager of Liverpool is going to have to cope with high expectations. It comes with the job.
So we're 10th- but only 3 points off the CL places having seen a bigger load of pants than MC Hammer's wardrobe so far this season.
    Hardly an insurmountable task.

As for Coutinho, I read something yesterday where his manager said that he was very happy here and that rumours of him talking to others are all bollocks.
    Which means they're probably true.
I think it depends on how he gets on with the new manager and whether or not he gets caught up in the new-found enthusiasm.
Anyway, if we do get Klopp, I have a little more confidence that we can find adequate replacement if he does leave.

That's what happens when you manage a big club... Wouldn't expect you to understand

I think the majority of us are right here, we lacked an identity and a playing style under Brod.

I said in another thread, target this year should be competitive in the league in and around top 4, a good cup run and good Europa league run. And most importantly exciting football to watch or at least an improvement on the drab football we've been playing

next year top 4 will be a target with a cup win as well

So you think he should be in the mix in the top 4, doing well in Europe and the domestic cups whilst playing some great football, just to ease him in like...<laugh>

Whereas next season he's got to deliver top 4 and a pot.

......and to think, they say you reds have unrealistic aims and a weird sense of entitlement......

In and around... Ie not finishing 10th.
Decent run in a cup isn't hard, only have to win 3 games in FA cup and you're in the semis.

Clearly said an improvement on the football were playing at the moment, if the guy he's us scoring more than 1 goal a game than he's passed that challenge.

In and around the top 4 doesn't mean higher than 10th lol.

I hope old Kloppo realises what he's letting himself in for, as I think that squad of yours is imbalanced and lacking in certain key areas. In my opinion it'll take him 18 months to get the personnel and the playing style right, but it's highly likely that there'll be some pain along the way. I'll be intrigued to see how long you give him, if there not the level of immediacy that you've spelled out there in terms of the results.

    Yes, they do don't they?
But when do you ever see any of us use the word "entitlement" in any of its variations?
I suppose this would be the "entitlement" that the likes of Stan and UIR accused us of for having the temerity to suggest that Jurgen Klopp might even think of joining us. How deluded we are.

What fans of other clubs accuse us of is just banter and is of no consequence whatsoever.

4 points off second, not as dire as you make out, especially given the fact everyone is losing games above us.

Hoping for a honeymoon period to get us back in the hunt :D

  12. Targets and expectations are different.

    Nobody is expecting top four.

The target must be top four, that doesn't mean we'll get it, it doesn't even mean we'll get close, but that as to be the target simply because there is no other target to go for. Everything below fourth (lets ignore the relegation zone for a second <laugh>) is a nothing position really. Why the **** would target a nothing position?

If our Cortina wants to leave then let him, would be a massive shame but we will have gegenpress as our play maker. But seriously I think he needs to improve, he isnt good enough yet for the likes of Barca

If we dont get top 4 its understandable obviously I dont want to pressure Klopp (if he is our new manager), I just want the whole club lifting this season and then kick on from next summer

    Baby steps. The priorities.

    Get team confidence back up.

Figure out exactly what he's going to do with us. If it's the same as at BD then this team is in for a world of hurt on the training ground. But since they've had the first eight games largely standing still they should still be fresh lol...

Identify which existing players just can't do it.

Tell FSG to buy some ****ing quality to replace the holes identified.

The rest of the season can be the players enjoying their football, getting to know each other on the field (remember there's a whole lot of them are new over last two years,)

Then we can look at league position and possibly be pleasantly surprised at where we end up.

If Klopp doesn't win the league THIS year he should be sacked.
