Madness is my favourite band. Bed and Breakfastman seems quite apt for you back in those days mate. "He used to sleep on our sofa and we called him a loafer":emoticon-0159-music
Yep, top band. I went to Madstock at Finsbury Park back in '96. As soon 'One Step Beyond' started, I tripped over and got crushed by hundreds of hobnail boots. And I lost my sovereign ring during the pandemonium. Support acts were Squeeze (brilliant) and Mike Flowers Pops. :)

Anyway, I didn't even have a sofa to sleep on. I left Thamesmead and made for the coast. I slept inside bus shelters and wheelie bins and on the beach when the weather was clement enough. Nine months I was homeless, and yet, to this day, I still can't explain why. Weird times.

Nice man Pomders, newsagent on the corner,
Not very rich, but never any poorer,
Jaunty old Ponders, a happy sixty-three,
Not very tall, but healthier than me.
He whistles timeless tunes as he saunters down the street,
Springs in his legs and elastic in his feet.

But in the middle of the night,
He steals through your garden,
Gives your hosiery a fright
,And doesn't say pardon.
As soft as a breeze,
With an arm full of underwear,
On his hands and knees,
Dreams about the knicker scare.

I saw them in Glasgow and I also met Carl from the band in London as my mate knows him. He introduced himself as, "hi I'm Carl from Madness" <laugh> crazy bastard!

Also, sorry about your homelessness<ok>

Also, not sure if I knew about Madfest, but Madstock on the other hand...

Yeah, what the fook is Madfest? Some **** has been messing with my account, like the other day when my post said 3rd placed teams could get through to the knockout stages of the rugby world cup.

I met Suggs at a charity event in Oxford. Nice guy. Had an odour of curry powder about him. True.

Don't talk badly of my mate Graham please.

Madness are a joke act. Started out as a piss-take, then it went too far and, since then, they've been too afraid to tell their mentally ******ed fans the truth.
