Apparently Rodgers wanted to sign Williams from Swansea to improve the defence and Bertand from Chelsea, but the transfer committee said no as both players were to old. Media are saying the committee will only sign players under 24, the old powerball system. Balotelli just scraped in unfortunately for us.

Lambert? Milner? Toure? Lallana?

PS...here comes Jimmy lol

Rodgers is looking for £12.5m in compensation as this is what is left on his contract. I think we could have signed Neymar with the compo we have paid to managers over the past 15 years

I'd read ten because the way the contract and targets was written by sacking him they've stopped him making his targets lol...

I don't actually mind the committee idea but I think there are a couple of problems with it that need tweaking.

1) There needs to be a clear named leader that says yes or no, preferably the manager but doesn't have to be I suppose.

2) The name. It shouldn't be called a committee FFS, that suggests shared responsibility. Or for a better description, a place to hide whilst the manager takes all the ****.

Now, if the manager is chosen for number one then number two doesn't really matter too much since he's the guy that takes the flack anyway. However, I'd still change it since its getting unwanted attention for our club.

I think the leader member should be the manager and the others should be there as support. Let one of them take care of negotiations etc if you want but the manager should be the guy choosing which players stay, go or comes in.

Don't agree with point 1 but 100% with point 2 - every club has a team of scouts who discuss targets. But we are the only ones stupid enough to give it a name and make it public!

Or just replace the committee members with what we used to call "scouts" <whistle> A crazy idea I know but instead of Ayre, Gordon et al sitting around discussing Football Manager points we could always employ people who understand football to go and watch players play

Agree about Ayre and Gordon - my feeling is that they're getting involved in the footballing side of things. They should only be worried about signing the cheques.

Negotiations with Klopp are being conducted by Ian Ayre, who is liaising closely with John W Henry, Tom Werner and Mike Gordon. (Pearce)

Never mind we're ****ed <laugh>

Was just about to post this <laugh>

We can expect negotiations to drag on until Chelsea sack Mourinho and then snap up klopp

I think age played a factor in not pursuing Williams and Bertrand. Oh, and also the fact that they're sh*t. <ok>

The bellend's opinion is only as valid as the next reds fan but he gets to actually have a say in football matters at the club.....allegedly.:bandit:
