I know it's been all said but i haven't said my farewell speech to Brendan.

unfortunately the writing was on the wall for him but he gave us some excellent and entertaining games throughout his term. Maybe it was a bit too soon for himself to become a manager at a club aiming for top 4 every season, maybe some more years at Swansea would have made him realize that possession football doesn't win every game and would've entered our club with a better understanding on how to control and win matches.

His first season with us was an experiment for himself and after the Zenit game he realized that the best way we can perform is just to attack from the outset, the following season gave us our most entertaining.

But with our star player gone and Sturridge dead he didn't know what way to turn in how to approach matches which ended up getting him the sack, his own vision blurred by our attack.

I hope he takes a break and enters football with a strong team where he can implement his style properly and get them playing great football lik he did with us.

Onto our next manager, i hope Klopp and i hope he calls back Balotelli and Markovic and strips Milner as captain and gives it to Mario #RoleModel

    but yeah #KloppIn

Strange, what's wrong with naming them? I'm not asking you to repost the links or post the text, I'm asking for a couple of names? I could then as stated go and do "my own research"

And How do you know I'm a big boy? I thought it was only King Eric that hung about outside my window? :emoticon-0105-wink:

  4. I don't actually mind the committee idea but I think there are a couple of problems with it that need tweaking.

    1) There needs to be a clear named leader that says yes or no, preferably the manager but doesn't have to be I suppose.

    2) The name. It shouldn't be called a committee FFS, that suggests shared responsibility. Or for a better description, a place to hide whilst the manager takes all the ****.

Now, if the manager is chosen for number one then number two doesn't really matter too much since he's the guy that takes the flack anyway. However, I'd still change it since its getting unwanted attention for our club.

I think the leader member should be the manager and the others should be there as support. Let one of them take care of negotiations etc if you want but the manager should be the guy choosing which players stay, go or comes in.

PL hopeful midtable. Newcastle, Southampton, West Ham level. But I could also imagine him in Spain.

Yup. It needs to be someone with a final say on which players we go after. If FSG insist on continuing with their philosophy of buying young purely to add value later then it has to be a DofF who tells the manager no, but then is held accountable if it goes tits up because that philosophy isn't making success on the pitch a priority.

Or its the manager who has the final say and he lives or dies by the players brought in.

The rest is just having advisors who suggest to the person in charge but have no actual power or veto. Frankly I don't give a toss about them other than they are recruited by the person in charge and that person is responsible for whether they are good or bad.

It's not rocket science and frankly the FSG system is as much "Brendan Rodgeresque" bullshitas the man himself. It's over complicating things to attebpt to look like you're smarter than everyone else or bringing something new to the game that us silly Brits didn't think of...

5 years on it doesn't seem to have changed much on the field does it?

Rodgers and Mike Ashley would make a terrifying duo, and not for footballing reasons.

  10. No harm in them having a terms of reference for these committee meetings either. Something as guide as to what FSG would like to see happen but with the leader having power to be flexible with the guideline. If a players ticks four of five boxes then fine sort of thing.

Surely his own ego wouldn't let him manage outside the perceived top 6/7 clubs in the PL and obvs the real big boys would never even notice him never mind give him a second glance

Or just replace the committee members with what we used to call "scouts" <whistle> A crazy idea I know but instead of Ayre, Gordon et al sitting around discussing Football Manager points we could always employ people who understand football to go and watch players play

Exactly. An example would have been Ashley Williams. Brendan wanted him as he thought he'd sort our defence. If it's not the manager that has final say it's one person who does that either says no but you will have this guy...his responsibility. Or he doesn't fit our policy so if we get him it's on your head Brendan if it doesn't work out.
