    Good luck Brendan <ok>

My only concern now is that any decent manager will demand total control over player acquisitions and FSG say no.

Klopp or Ancelotti wouldn't come surely?

Look I'm not saying I'm not saying you were on track this season, just that he should've been given more time once you decided to go with him for this season. Arsenal fans were spitting blood after back to back losses. 2 wins later and it all looked much rosier again. Even the embarrassing home loss to Olympiakos has been forgiven after the result today. Who knows, maybe Rodgers would've beaten us(he usually does) and then gone on a good run of form. With the way the next fixtures are set up 2 wins make a huge difference with so many of the sides above you playing eachother.

I get what you're saying about style of football and whilst I am using "you" a lot, what I mean is the club and specifically FSG. They chose to keep him and in my opinion they should've stuck by that decision at such an early stage in the season. Personally I don't think your team has been boring this season, just a little clueless and lacking balance.

Ah well, I didn't mean to get into such a long conversation about it. Back to the Spurs board for me... until we beat you on Saturday <monster>

I think the main problem Rodgers had was the loss of Suarez and Sturridge, the latter due to injury. When we had them both firing on all guns it gave Rodgers delusions of adequacy in his management capabilities. Once he lost them we saw his constant chopping and changing of systems, playing players in the wrong positions, poor defensive strategy and poor transfers, ( although the committee may have played no small part in this aspect).

In the end I think it was the aimless performances that finished him, the team did not seem confident in what they were doing, or maybe did not understand what he was after.

But now it is onward and upward, hopefully.

Ancelotti earns respect immediately, just purely down to achievement he gets respect alone. Certainly is a draw for the better players out there more so than Klopp

Klopp is a bit of an unKown and a new Klub will be a bit of an unKnown to him too, He's not that old and been at Dortmund a fair few years.

I have had swordtails that have done that, it is a clever trick, but I would not want one as manager of LFC. Now a Siamese fighting fish that's the attitude we need

  7. I think he'd have gone in the summer had the right man been available. I think that is why Ancelotti and Klopp are being so heavily linked, both said they wanted a break from the game. They've both had almost five months away, maybe one of them as decided they're ready for a return?

  9. Klopp is more or less the same as when Rafa arrived; fairly young manager with a high reputation having done well and won things in one country despite the dominance in said country by certain clubs (or club in Klopp's case). Also done well in Europe although granted, not as well as Rafa had.

I agree Ancelotti as the bigger CV. Its hard to argue with fact <laugh>

I want Klopp personally, though doubt it will happen. Highly attractive brand of football with Dortmund and put them very much "back on the map". Decent success in Europe and domestically, good eye for a bargain in the transfer market, takes no nonsense and I have no doubt will understand the history and the tradition of the club and embrace the challenge, for me he ticks all the boxes.

In reality though, we'll get De Boer.

You mean one club not country?<whistle> Rafa had been at quite a few clubs by Klopp's age and had a hell of a lot of experience

Edit: but you said that already.. <doh>

True. I'd be surprised if at least one of them isn't waiting for the Bayern job though. Klopp might be thinking about the Chelsea job too, even if Mourinho gets through this season okay I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves. I think it would be very impressive if you got Ancelotti, a real statement of intent. I'm not sold on Klopp and think it would be a risk.

I know De Boer's been mentioned, are there anyothers you guys would consider?

  15. His reputation was mainly built on his time at one club; Valencia!

Klopp's been a manager for fourteen years. Rafa had only been a manager for eleven years when he came to us.

  17. Klopp has previous said he wouldn't want to join an already establish (Bayern, Barca, Real) or money rich (Chelsea, Man City, PSG) club, he wants a project.

Rafa has won promoton and stuff with real youth and B and managed at a few other clubs too didn't he?

Klopp 14 years? didn't think he was at it that long. What's Klopp's record prior to Dortmund?
