All you whingers and whiners out there fcuk off. If we were 4th bottom I could understand some people wanting SB out. If we are not in a play off position by Christmas I can understand people wanting SB out. However, we are only 9 games in, 4th in the league without ever getting out of 2nd gear and through to the 4th round of the Capital One Cup.
Admittedly our points total could easily be higher - Bruce didn't drop the ball at Wolves, nor did he fail to mark Jordan Rhodes on Saturday.
We have changed managers too quickly in the past and then regretted it later. Unless we have a guaranteed successor lined up - and someone who has a proven track record of getting teams promoted - then for me it's Bruce In.
(And before someone mentions Allardyce, there's no guarantee he'd come to a championship club)

I was pissed off & wrote this after Saturday:

I understand both sides, I have supported manager after manager right up until the end, doesn't make me right though!
For now though I'll keep backing SB due to our current position but if we do slip away the. What I wrote previously will come true!
TBH, if SB had to go it should have been the summer, & it should have been him resigning, that way we wouldn't be in this scenario we are at the moment! It might also have seen different calls for a new manager?

Something else SB gets little credit for - that is maintaining a balancing act between the owners and the fans. Not every manager would want to work under Allam and put up with some of the cr@p that has gone on off the pitch over the last couple of seasons.

This is a Hull City forum, it's a place where Hull City fans are welcome to post their opinions on any City related topic (and a fair few non-City related topics).

    So **** off yourself. <ok>

And please spell **** correctly, so as to not bypass the swear blocker. Ta.

Apologies if my opening line was a bit strong. I do not wish to stifle debate or squash the opinions of others even if they are diametrically opposed to my own. Really started this as a counter to the new "Bruce Out" thread started today.

Play offs are a minimum requirement for me. But for individual errors we could easily have 4 or 5 more points on the board already and as I say we haven't got out of second gear yet. I think we have a squad capable of winning automatic promotion.

I would be very unhappy if we finished out side of the play offs!

Fun fact: 3 out of 4 teams that make the playoffs don't go up.

We're 9 games in and he doesn't know our best formation, despite being here for the better part of 3 and a half seasons. Our football has gone from impressive, flowing stuff to the sporting equivalent of the fluff you find down the back of the sofa. We haven't strung together any remote form of consistency, our midfield is pretty much non-existant, we pass from side to side and through the defence, our keeper has probably taken more touches in open play than any other keeper in the league (I'd love to see a stat on that).

Bruce has provided us with some great memories, but football clubs don't run on good memories, they run on money and results. We aren't Leeds and we can't live in the past, I mean we didn't even win the FA Cup and we got knocked out of Europe by a Belgian team that don't even challenge for their own league title. Good memories all round, but fast forward now and we're playing crap football and changing formation every week. Fans are right to be annoyed because we've seen this team at it's peak and it's very, very good. So what's wrong with having some expectation? It's the managers job to motivate the players, to pick the tactics and to drill them in them and recentley it's not looked like he's done any of that.

I like Steve Bruce, he's an honest manager who wears his heart on his sleeve. But he's not getting it right and if we don't sort ourselves out, we aren't going to get promoted and get a share of that big payout. We need what's best for Hull City, not what's best for sentiment and if the right thing to do is replace him, then we should do it.

Despite all you say, Sterling - and I agree with much of it - we are still in a good position, and it could quite easily be better had we cut out individual errors. Your final sentence sums it up - IF the right thing to do is replace him... I don't think it is at the moment.

But when do you say, enough's enough? When we're 7th? 9th? 12th? I've said he should be given until Christmas, but that was when we were winning. We're now not winning at home and not playing very well. It did wonders for Norwich, they sacked their manager when they were 7th and went on an amazing run and got promoted at the first attempt. They weren't doing badly, but they knew they had to go back up and did what they had to.

If we're still struggling (and I know we're fourth or whatever, but we won't be for long if this continues) at the international break, he'll be gone.

Like I said in the opening post I will understand if people want SB out if we are not top 6 by Christmas. Changing manager does not guarantee success and we have too often dismissed a manager in the past without having a suitable replacement lined up. IF Allam were of a mind to dismiss SB - and I don't think he is, but that is another matter - then he would surely be putting feelers out already for potential replacements.
