Agreed mate. He was versatile in that he could be a poacher in the box & also make something out of nothing. Also, very good at penalties. Some great goals there.
That's strange, the majority of Man City games I've watched from last season he was playing in midfield.
Korens performances in the Pearson / Barmby season were outstanding, and if he hadn't got injured when we had about 9 games in a month that side would have just about made the play offs
I'd forgotten he missed virtually all of that season. Bit off topic, but when you compare the squad of 2012/13 to this seasons we have a better quality player in every position. Which is why we should win the league.
Probably the best football played at the KC was the beginning of Brucey's reign when Koren and Quinn were playing together. We stuffed Brum and Millwall. It was fantastic.
Very flawed logic and honestly, wrong. The league now is much different than it was 3 seasons ago. May other teams who were around then have improved as well, some have done the opposite, and there are many new teams who we haven't played at this level ever or at least for a while.
You was also basing it on the fact that we finished 2nd with a team not as good as our current one, which is the flawed part.
The first promotion was arguably better. Brilliant football with some massive wins. Allsopp, Burgess, Elliott, Price all scored loads. But yeah the first few months of that season were awesome too.
I miss Koren, in particular having someone in the team who can strike from distance and generally hit the target. Got his fair share of penalty box action too.
