David Burns @bbcburnsy SMC putting the boot into @Hullccnews re Airco Arena. There statement says case has cost estimated £115k of taxpayers money. A fairly stupid thing to say, they've got absolutely no idea what HCC's legal costs are.
The SMC's actions have been proved legally correct. But we all know the way they went about this business was morally wrong
Its not stupid. They'll be able to have a decent guess. Why shouldnt they stick the boot in. We all know Geraghtys an absolute **** yet who's in charge of Leisure and culture still. Did Brady do the wise thing and remove him years ago? Nah
That depends on who the Arena is leased to? The SMC could have sub-let the Arena for a pound to The Tigers Trust. Any profits would then go to the Trust rather than the SMC and ultimately the council tax payers of Hull.
If that were the case, the SMC would state would the costs were, not what they were guessing they'd be.
Depends if use in house lawyers or litigation experts from a big firm. You could ask the council under a freedom of information request.
It is not always possible to claim the full cost of a court action. HCC officers time and expenses for instance may not be included. But they can be guessed at and I doubt that the difference would be enough to be considered stupid.
Excellent news. If the club had been found to do anything legally wrong, there would be much condemnation of the them. Rightly so. Because the club have been found to have NOT done anything legally wrong, and they DID act legally, naturally the above standard doesn't apply in some eyes. What will it take for some of you to see just how ****ing incompetent HCC are, with your ****ing money? Moral outrage? GTF. On the bright side, the club benefits from this ruling, local young footballers benefit and as stated, the arena is still available for community news.
There's something rather odd in the judge's statement in his judgement - “It is quite plain on the evidence that the facilities on offer are available to the community and the citizens of Kingston upon Hull on precisely the same basis as they were available before the installation of the 3G surface.” That's quite obviously not the case.
Brady and Geraghty could not run a bath. Time they left office. No,, correction were booted out of office. Rant over.
Im surprised at you condoning the act of leaning on trampos. It's not like they have much money, it's just all small change.
What was stupid, was the SMC putting any reference to costs in their statement. Not only do I believe they're guessing them, but it's just ****-stirring. HCC could just as well issue another statement saying 'it's peanuts compared to what you wasted on legal fees with your pointless name change applications', but it would be equally petty and stupid.
