I remember Reed saying that they have an eye on players and are ready to sign them if the chance arose, even if we didn't quite need them at the time. Something about not missing out if the player was right for Saints. See no reason why we wouldn't sign Toby and VVD...especially as Toby can also play more forward. Fonte cannot play for ever.

So, does that mean the Yoshida haters are going to start criticising VVD before he kicks a ball, for being so similar in the stats, or will they start realising that Yoshida isn't as bad as he has been painted, as his stats are so similar to a player they really, really wanted?
