You can criticise Wenger all you want but if you make posts just to try and start a spat with those you see as "Wengerites" then your posts will be deleted <ok>

What was the whole bloody point of moving to the Emirates if we're not even properly using our spending power to buy the needed players to win major trophies? It's all a bloody scam by Wenger and the board to make more money for themselves, and then mention how great our finances look to the fans, like as if we give a **** about that over winning leagues and European trophies.

We will probably end up buying some unknown losers tomorrow, because no major club is gonna sell any key players now when they can't replace them as well.
That's what's funny, Wenger always goes on about we will only sign SUPER TOP QUALITY and then goes on about not being able to find many, when there are many of them who just happen to be going to other clubs, and then he signs some average **** player like Wellbeck....Wenger has one very very skewered definition of what super top quality actually means. I guess for him super **** quality classifies as super top quality.

There are very few top class strikers for sale each year and Wenger is not the only manager looking for them.
At the end of the window make a list of all the top class strikers that have moved, then trim it down to the ones that would fit your team/style, then look at where they have moved to.
Let me know how many you could/should realistically have had.

Add Suarez too but we decided to be idiots about it with that whole 40 million and 1 pound fiasco, like that was going to really really make Liverpool happy with such an insulting bid.

And what strikers do we end up getting? Yaya Sanogo, and United reject Welbeck, so please let's cut the BS, you telling me Wenger couldn't find ANYONE better than those 2, especially from the list I mentioned?

Even though I was talking about this transfer window and you have gone back two you still haven't come up with a player you would have had a realistic chance of getting, maybe Martinez but I still think Atletico are a better prospect than you at the moment.

We had every chance of getting Martinez if we even bothered, which we didn't, the same with Pedro. There's nothing called you never had a 'realistic chance' when we never made a bloody bid in the first place!

FFS Martinez was openly courting us previously when he was speaking so positive about us in public, that's a footballer's way of saying hey come get me.

Mandzukic, Pedro, Martinez, Ibrahimovic, that's 4 available strikers this summer.

That is a footballers way of letting everyone know he is open to a move or a pay rise <ok>

I am not being biased here but unfortunately you are in the same boat as us. If a top class striker has a chance of moving clubs he will look at two things, money and prospects. All the players you mentioned had better prospects and money at the clubs they went to with the exception of Martinez (though Atletico have won the league recently).
Juve, PSG, Bayern, Chelsea, City, all winners or challengers for the title every season and all pay decent money.
Arsenal and United are not a top draw for top strikers at the moment, if any of us get one we should be ecstatic but if not, don't accuse the of manager for not trying.

    And where have they gone?

Mandzukic - Juventus - Champions (and decent pay)
Pedro - Chelsea - Champions (and very good payers)
Ibrahimovic - not moved (waiting for top wages at top club)
Martinez - maybe had a chance, would he fit you style?

Atheltico and Juve simply can't offer better wages than us, they can't afford to. So the likes of Manzukic,Martinez and Morata were 'realistic' signings for us if we wanted to buy them, but Wenger was never interested in these three, even though two of them are better than Giroud.

    To be fair..
Mandzukic was available a year ago, highly unlikely he would leave this summer.
Jackson Martinez - was a possibility. His quality IS a question though.
Pedro - We really didn't need him
Ibrahimovic - Doesn't wanna play in the EPL apparently.
Lewandowski - Would be the IDEAL signing. He's at Bayern though. Massively unlikely.

    Then there's...

Benzema - Committed to Real. Doesn't Want to move.
Suarez - Only been at Barca for a year. Again an almost impossible signing,
Cavani - This one is possible. We've probably left it too late though. Would be a great signing.
Higuain - Napoli seem reluctant to sell but its possible.
Dzeko - Similar to Giroud. Not sure MC would have sold to us.

One thing I think it's fair to say Wenger is correct on the fact there just arnt many TOP CF's around at the moment. Which is weird because we seem to be seeing more quality Attacking midfielders every year.

Still Wenger should be going all OUT to strengthen. If he thinks this squad is good enough he's clearly past his best as a manager.

He was available again this summer, Athletico sold him off to Juventus. So basically Juventus got 2 strikers we should and could have gone for, Morata and Mandzukic.

Honestly Charlie Austin, Danny Ings would have been better than gong into the season with one fit striker

There's no way in hell Atletico are a better prospect than us.

We have one of the highest revenues in Europe, a 60,000 seat stadium, a highly respected manager in the game and we have got plenty of money available to spend on both players and wages.

Atletico, as well as they have done recently, are not able to compete with us on that front, even if they did win the league recently.

The first thing most players look for nowadays is how much they will be earning from the clubs interested. If we were in for Martinez or Mandzukic and it came down to finances, Atletico would have been blown out the water.

So I don't actually think we made a bid for him. Interested? Maybe we were but we always show interest in players and don't always follow it up with a bid.

Not sure about Ings but Austin scored 18 league goals last season. For £15m, we could do a lot worse...(*cough* Welbeck *cough*)
