Yeah would be very happy with either but particularly Cavani. He would be perfect for us.
If rumours are to be believed we were serious in our pursuit of Benzema but that obviously fell through and it would now appear we are hoping to get either Cavani or Higuain. This is just information I've gleaned off the internet so it should be taken with a pinch of salt <ok>

BBC seems to think you have a chance :emoticon-0100-smile

IN THE FRAME? Arsenal
WHY? Arsenal desperately need a striker to augment the brilliance of Alexis Sanchez. Olivier Giroud is serviceable and effective but the suspicion remains he is still just short of the very top class.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had a perfect platform to build from after a superb run towards the end of last season which saw them retain the FA Cup - but even he admits their start to the season has been "very average".
Cavani is the sort of high-profile figure that will not only ease the frustrations of supporters who want to see Arsenal move into the elite market again, but also the sort of striker who might just give them that added dimension to mount a serious title challenge.
HOW MUCH WILL HE COST? £50m

WHERE WILL HE FIT IN? The 28-year-old has a consistent history of goalscoring, with 78 in 104 appearances for Napoli and 34 in 66 for PSG.
He could be the spearhead of Arsenal's attack with his powerful frame and allow the likes of Sanchez, Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere to work around him, depending on what the occasion demands.
WILL IT HAPPEN? Wenger has been dropping subtle hints that he is up to something in the transfer market - and proved he can pull off the spectacular late deal by luring Ozil from Real Madrid for £42.4m on deadline day two years ago.
VERDICT: Will be a spectacular coup if Arsenal can pull it off because PSG will drive a fierce bargain - but the Gunners are up to something.

Somehow I can't see it happening

We are not getting Cavani or Higuain, no chance. It's simply too late now, and once again the moron that is Wenger has dithered all summer and ended up with **** all. PSG are not going to sell and Napoli will ask way too much for Higuain, and he is not worth £40 Mil plus. We could have upgraded on Giroud all summer, but those players have all moved clubs now, and like I said, it's just simply too late now.

You forget... Wenger has confirmed that we'll be fine because we have top class offensive options to come back: Wilshere and Welbeck.

Arsene Wenger is not beyond criticism but to call him a moron is ridiculous and unnecessary

To be honest I don't see any big moves happening at this stage, do you think you might have somebody lined up though, I hope to god we have.
The stories of Özil signing only broke the day before the transfer window closed likewise there was no hint of Man Utd signing Falcao until the final day last year so I suppose it's possible something could still happen.Phil McNulty of the BBC seems to think we are up to something

Not really, the man time and time again makes moronic decisions, so he is a moron.

Depends on which decisions you mean, he rarely makes a bad choice in the transfer market (Fergie made many more and I think of him as a God). He may make mistakes in team selection but that is subjective, he probably expects better from the players he chooses or ****s up with the opponents tactics.

He rarely makes bad choices in the transfer market, because he would rather sit on the cash and not actually buy anyone. Wenger is either not trying to win or even at the very least compete for the two big trophies on purpose or he is a moron who thinks that only a keeper is the difference between us winning the league and finishing third.

Or he has looked at the situation and thought "can I get better than Sanchez...no, can I get better than Ozil...no, can I get better than Santi...probably not" the only player that really needs an upgrade (not back up) is Giroud and strikers are not that easy to come by. Do you want him to spend for the sake of it?

As Cini pointed out, Wenger has had numerous opportunities to replace Giroud and he has failed, also we need another DM, that is vital, because we only have Coquelin for that posistion and if he gets injured or suspended we are short. Arteta and Flamini are not going to cut it.

So which striker do you realistically think you could have had (they are thin on the ground)?
I will accept the DM point though, there have been many moves in the last few windows.

Strikers that would have been improvements on Giroud in the last fews years - Higuain,Suarez,Manzkuic,Bacca,Cavani,Martinez and Dzeko.
