Guan 2.0 on Saintsweb has said that the crowd's reaction on Sunday will depend on whether a new player or not is revealed.

What, will be hostile if we haven't unveiled someone? Or will be mental (in a good way) because of who we might reveal?

It was a reply to a silly thread on Saintsweb about if the players should be booed before the game. The guy is very ITK though. As DTLW hints above, it's probably Virgil.

Virgil's great and everything, but I feel like he's been in the team for a season now! Will probably be a big yawn. He needs to hit the ground running. Can't help but think we messed up this pre-season pretty badly really - didn't seem much cohesion, and we focused on depth of squad (presumably for Europa), when maybe we need to up the quality and get some Prem-ready players too.

That sounds like nonsense, ITK or not. Hardly think the club are going to think "you're being meanies so we won't show your our new toy".

Would make far more sense to reveal him before game to bring some positivity in.

What, Guan 2.0 holding the crowd reaction in the palm of his hand? I hope you're not suggesting he's just a guy in his pants at his computer who knows someone at the club rather than an enigmatic all-seeing magnetic field of potential energy, conducting the SMS crowd's ups and downs with a knowing, playful, graceful wave of his online baton?

I don't mind people being in the know, but I haven't received the memo or the questionnaire about how I'll react in Sunday. If he tells us about a player all well and good, but telling us about the crowd? He's not called me yet :)

This maybe his message telling us a player will be revealed then. I'd rather he was revealed today and is wearing his boots on Sunday.

I know VVD is primarily a CB, but I hope we put him in defensive midfield, as I am still of the opinion that most of our problems stem from the middle of the park.
And I am most definitely still of the opinion that we are crying out for a "proper" attacking midfielder to compliment whoever we play as defensive midfielders.
At the moment we have Davis continually playing out of position, but we still need better than him when he is played as attacking midfielder.

It will be interesting if we're on the wrong side of the result Sunday
How do they want the "paying" crowd to react?
Is it the results that are frustrating or mearly the performances?

Let's see how Vic/Romeu/Clasie works out. They haven't played together yet and this looks like it might be Ron'a aim as a midfield three. These in front of Fonte and VVD could settle into a decent core.

Injuries and transfers haven't allowed that yet.

I said in another thread that I too would like another attacking threat. That could actually be Tadic remember. I think it is key he plays most games. He is one of our best at controlling and holding the ball, then creating something. We saw glimpses of that last night.

I'm starting to believe we are the new West Ham. I'm certain that our fans will not put up with hoof-ball and aimless thumps upfield hoping Pelle can turn them into gold, regardless of the result.

The performance of the last two games was disappointing, in terms of how we played. I don't like watching balls continually aimed long and high at the striker. I much prefer us to work on trying to create gaps by good movement of the front players and keeping possession until that gap is there. Having players run at teams is good too as is getting players in behind defenders.

I'd take a bad result now if we showed hat we wee going back to more that style of play. I fear not though with Pelle as the main striker, unless we really start to get the ball to Tadic and Mane's feet more often.

2015 has been the year of the long ball for us, we might as well sign Kevin Nolan.
