The drummer was from Hull, the other two were from Manchester and Rugby.

They were supported on tour by an unheard of band called Radiohead, who overtook them rather rapidly.

Myles the basist was my best mate All through elloughton primary school and in the same class as me at hunsley. Not seen him for years now though

How old are you Roary? I went to Hunsley too, but sure Kingmaker were a few years above me, before I jetted off for the Costa del Glasgow

I managed a big band from Canada called Rymes with Orange, they were supported on tour by....... Nickelback. Couldn't get a deal over here for toffee.

My friend who started me dj'ing also managed a big Glasgow band called Whiteout who were on The Word and few other programs, just about to make it big and they were supported on their European tour by some band from Manchester called.....Oasis.

Funny how things work out!

Well bugger me sideways.

I loved KIngmaker, had no idea where they were from either. Still have a cassette of theirs somewhere, used to play it continuously in the car.

Imma gonna have to try and iTunes their shizzle now.

Ta for the memories Lambo.

Hi Dj did 82-88 at hunsley so I'm an old get now 43. Loz hardy think it was his name joined hunsley in our 5th year I think

Ah, I am 39, but I was friends with a lot of older people in school, Richard Turner was one of my neighbours, probably your year, and yes, that name rings a bell. I was 87-90 before I moved up north

Richard turner rings a bell but cannot picture. James Lunn paul Hogarth Mike Armstrong were from my year do they ring a bell

Myles and Loz were both from this area. I used to live next to the drummers ex wife (John Andrews) in North Cave many moons ago.

I was in the same South Hunsley School year as Myles's younger brother.

I'm pretty sure that big Indy band from the U.S. Has some vids with a city shirt. The singer lived in Hull for a while when he was a kid I think.

Do you mean Pavement? Stephen Mallmus is defo a fan although I'm pretty sure it's not that he lived in Hull, I seem to recall his roadie was a City fan.

Pretty sure I have all their albums!!

I watched them live at Uni '93 or maybe '94 - Supported by Elastica!!

I'm pretty sure Kingmaker also supported The Wonder Stuff. They were a really good band and perhaps didn't enjoy the success that they should have. Think I've still got an Eat Yourself Whole T Shirt kicking around somewhere at home.
