What is the point of a £4.4mil buy out clause?!

I wonder if we have anyone out there representing Sunderland?
Speaks volumes when a club actually wants to fly out to convince a player to join them.
Could well be bollocks but certainly the right way to do business.

Sound like bollocks to me. I think that reporter thinks transfer are conducted the same way as it was 20 years ago. Don't need to fly anyone out there when they can conference video call, use online signatures and even fax machines are still in operation

yes, but I think the personal touch still goes a long way for me. no crudities please.
If I was wanted by a couple of companies and one of them made the effort to come and see me I think I know which I would go for.
Anyway, like you said, sounds like bollocks, lets hope so.

Think the personal touch works with the player but not with the club. Their only interest is the best deal for them, not if somebody has come out to see them.

Absolutely, club could give 2 ****s what happens to the player so long as they get the best deal out of it.
But if they went out to talk to the player and put up the same deal that Sunderland might have done then who would be in the driving seat then?

Should be Sunderland - simoly because of our longevity PL status and facilities. With due respect to Bournemouth - we are a far bigger club and we have a manager who is from the Netherlands so we should be in the driving seat if it's between us and them - sending someone out to do the negotiations is neither here nor there

See i'd fly them out, like we do, show them the facilities, sell the club in the flesh, not in an Italian hotel function room with a power point presentation.

I'd rather show him all this https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=a...ved=0CAcQ_AUoAmoVChMIk46Y_ufBxwIVyzkaCh1QbwsF and physically walk him through some of the best facilities in the country than show him it on a screen.

Probably why Bournemouth went to Italy mate... not sure they have any of these facility things you speak of.

"This is our manager's office, slash cleaner's cupboard and this is our fitness suite, slash car park".

They've just opened a new training ground but it's not competing with ours, not by a long shot. But it could grow rapidly if they stay up though.

Bournemouth probs have 2 things to offer that we dont. Slightly warmer weather and in a nice part of the country imo and a more attractive style of football.
Yes we have a nice coastline up here etc but if we are totally honest we are percieved as being near the north pole lol...it's all about perceptions!

Well in all fairness and no disrespect to Bournemouth, if a player would rather sign for them then us there is some thing very wrong indeed..

Utterly incredible mate. Much as you'll hate it, those owners might be throwing the money around but what they are doing is building an absolute legacy and a club that will grow itself forever.

They have done a phenomenal job, for now and the long term.

You're right mate, I don't like it. It looks ****ing outstanding though.

They're definitely moving in the right direction, these Arabs know how to make money - City turning into a mega-rich, self sufficient club is inevitable. 100% agree.
