I wish he'd resigned too to be honest, looks like he's gambled on players going and we are stuck with them now
I blame some of the players for what appears to be a lack of interest and effort, but agree the instructions tactics come from the management
Exactly fez he is a waste of a shirt in our current style of play but Bruce won't drop him so like Bruce I found him an easy role
Bruce constantly focuses on one particular irrelevance. At the moment it's the transfer window. Hardly any of our players are actually seriously linked with anyone and he says there's no bids. All he talks about is what a distraction the transfer talk is, yet he's the only one doing the talking. Everyone else is more interested in incomings. It was such a typical Bruce performance on Saturday, we've seen it so many times in the last 18 months yet somehow he's made all the talk about the transfer window. Hardly anyone has even questioned his role in the team's performance on the day. It's a Mourinho tactic. Shame he can't copy his on pitch tactics too.
Reading this thread and the forum here in generally is winning me over to the Bruce outers, think he has made a few too many misjudgements now for my liking but I still respect him anyway regardless and still hold the view that last season he was let down by quite a few players who are unfortunately still at the club making progression very hard
I have a lot of respect for Bruce too. I like him a lot, but liking him doesn't win games or play half decent football. The fact is, it's time for him to go, unless we start performing in the next few games. As someone said earlier in the thread, if we at least had a go, it would be different. He clearly doesn't have the dressing room and we have started on the same foot as we left off last season. We should be pissing this league with the players we have. I know some go on about "oh what would this board have been like when we were in division 4 etc.", but it's not about that, times have changed, and we HAVE a decent squad of players, but for some reason they're not gelling and that buck has to stop with Bruce unfortunately. I would honestly take some team selections and tactics from people on this board ahead of Bruce's drivel.
I'm giving Bruce two games, yes we were unbeaten before the Charlton game but we were nearly knocked out of the cup by Accrington Stanley and we looked poor against Wolves. The trouble for me, is Bruce keeps on playing the same team and I'm getting tired of going for the point away from home or defending the 1-0...I have respect for Bruce but I think he's out of ideas now at Hull and it's time he moved on.
to be fair he has started using different excuses this season - the transfer window, the weather, disappointment with buy-out clauses
I know a manager who's half decent & looking for work... His name is Nigel tho on the downside he comes with baggage, a randy racist son who ain't to good on the pitch ,bit like AB
surely there are more managers available than Nigel Pearson but Bruce is starting to get on my nerves abit and I agree that he is starting to use excuses which is poor for a manager who currently has most of the best players in the championship. If theres no improvement against Rochdale or Preston. I think we need a change.
Anyone ever thought Steve Bruce might be keeping a lid on it, putting on a brave face, and those greedy selfish ****ing footballers might be trying to angle a way out all the while pretending they care. People like Dawson are now been mentioned Davies too. Its a ****ing nightmare for him, what if he drops them and they dont go? Its easy to say motivate them but how do you motivate a millionaire who has just had his wages cut 50% and knows a club might come in for him who will restore his salary? A bit of support wouldnt go amiss. Instead we have the Talksport types, clueless tactically inept etc etc.
We just don't seem to be progressing in our style of football Chazz, it's so dour at the moment. As you say it could well be largely to do with this window at the moment, but if that's the case what was the reason for the same dour football for the majority of last season?
Agree with Chazz, there are a lot of things currently beyond his control, players not wanting to be here, not wanting to get injured in case they get their next `big` move, financial restraints imposed stifling his attempts at bringing people in. And yes I know we were relegated and he has spent £10m on Hernandez, but for me he is the best positioned bloke to take us back up. I for one aint going along with the Bruce out brigade just because we have lost one game, just can`t believe some would even consider flathead after the way he totally turned his back on us, the man is a walking ego ffs. I for one believe things shall be different come the end of the transfer window, and have every faith in him doing a job for us, on which he has repeatedly proved he can do. I`m sure Sunderland fans wish they hadn`t been so hasty.
Too many reasons to go into but obviously theres a come down after relegation but we are still above the other two relegated sides. Its going to take a while to get going again. The window closing will be a big help. Derby were doing everything right preseason, not going to plan there. Boro got beat by the bottom club. Lets see after 10 games where we are.
