Seems pretty definite we are signing him. I was under the impression Brucey knew him from Wigan but their paths didnt cross there.
    He's a winger/midfielder apparently.

Where is he going to play for us and what is he going to give us? Who's place will he take?
He's not a prolific goal scorer.

Hopefully we use him in the midfield and not instead of a striker.

He plays attacking midfield, or as a winger and he mainly played left wing, so I can't see it having any effect on Elmo. I see him more as Brady's replacement, though we might well give him a go in the middle, he can replace Clucas for me, I'm not convinced by him at all.

Ah so he's a left winger! When you say attacking midfield do you mean as one of the CM's in a four? Or a 4-5-1 and he's a free role?

I said after seeing Clucas play for chesterfield against us, i didnt rate him.

I think Maloney is the replacement for Quinniesta, we have been lacking in midfield and Maloney could allow us to play 3-5-2 and restore the wing-backs, as Robertson doesn't look happy at left back and is struggling for form. I would also like to see Moses at right wing-back and it would allow Elmo to move on as looks very likely.

I don't think having Elmo and Moses in the same team works too well, both want to attack and overlap down the right.

I think he could play wide left in a 4-4-2, left of the front three in a 4-3-3, or more centrally in a 3-5-2 of a 4-5-1 (though we currently have a lone striker type). I don't know enough about him to know if we could get away with him in the middle playing 4-4-2.

I ****ing hate 3-5-2... though it played a large part in our promotion last time around so we'll see.

Considering we haven't been great so far this season, we've started 4-4-2 and picked up points.

I'd prefer 4-4-2 with Hayden and Maloney in the middle. Why do we need a Defensive midfielder when we have pacey fullbacks and a rock like Dawson? If we've got the personnel to attack and put teams on the back foot perhaps we should actually try doing it?

This is exactly what I've been thinking may happen with Maloney coming in.
I think Wigan played 433 under Martinez with Maloney left of the midfield three.
He's not really an out an out wide player, but likes to come in field and link up like Koren or Quinn.
I really rate the guy and think he'll be an astute signing.

Ye i've wondered if he wants to go 4-3-3. But if Hudd is one of the 3 then **** me the other two will be ****ing nackered. Way too much ground for them to cover.

Yes, but he's a right-footed one. I don't see him at CM in a 4-4-2, but he could be a midfielder in a trio if we go back to wing-backs (with Robbo at LWB).

Odubajo just seems like a poor man's Elmo to me. I know it's early etc. etc. but what are his strengths? I've yet to see him beat a man or put a good cross in in the two away games.

At times I've hated our 352, but I really hate this current 4-4-2 or whatever it actually is when we get the ball. It's properly ****e. As I've always said, it's not just about the numbers written on a line-up, it's about where the players actually are on the pitch. At the moment you'd draw our team as a 4-4-2 but where are the wingers when we get the ball? Not on the wing, so is it a diamond? God knows, whatever it is it's **** though.

A 3-5-2 formation would probably have stopped us conceding the 2nd goal yesterday. Considering we have plenty of experience in the PL with our centre halves, the second goal yesterday was a very poor one to concede.

Alex Bruce as a third CD and he'll do what he does excellently- clear the danger.

Absoloutely, and that's why I think he'll revert to it for the Preston game.

That's an easy fix, Taylor at RB and Moses right wing for me. I would agree Elmo and Moses don't look right, but maybe need a bit of time. Probably too similar.

He's a good player if you ask me, which pains me to say coming from the Ibrox side of Glasgow! But I think he'll fit in well. Good with both feet from what I can recall, pops up out of nowhere and has a good shot on him. I'm sure he's played as a striker with Celtic at times too, but mainly left wing. Can run at people too.
