Spot on. Plus of course Gayle has made it abundantly clear that he has no interest in "moving down" to the Championship.
In some respects isn't Gayle a slightly safer option? He is similar age, has already proved he can score at EPL level, and if a similar price is less of a risk. I wouldn't mind either of them, but wonder that the mention of Gayle is just to test BFC resolve. P.S. I may be wrong but I can't see Burnely spunking £9m on Gray as being reported.
I think the Burnley "interest" has been disproved already. No mention on the Burnley boards apparently.
Which Burnley boards? The Not606 Burnley board doesn't mention anything much about any topic. Most of the recent threads are spam about boxing
The thing is Gayle has justified his price, by scoring in the PL, one good season in the championship doesn't justify the £9mill price tag and Hull know this
It's the lead story in the Burnley Express, so I've no doubt it's being discussed on the Burnley boards. Their article claims that they hope to get him for a third of the £9m Bristol agreed, good luck to them with that.
Make up your mind! (I'm guessing you just misread the second post and were talking about Gayle's price. He was clearly referring to Gray there.)
Campbell isn't getting a game..... Joel that is, would he be willing to step down a league for hopefully a year with a guarantee of playing time?
I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on terminology again, for me wingers play in a 4-3-3 formation, and are essentially forwards/strikers - which is where my original analysis of Maloney's goal return came from. If he's happy playing on the right of a conventional midfield 4 then there's no issue I suppose. Beggars the question of why we've recruited Odubajo and Clucas then.
The good start to the season has been useful in making us more attractive, need to keep this up in the next games.
I doubt he'll be used on the right, given who we've got there. In the current formation he's most likely to play LM, cutting in on to his right a lot and leaving the wing forays to Robertson. If we ever go back to 3-5-2, he could float centrally ahead of two deeper CMs.
Gayle would be a quality signing. In the season before last he scored 13 goals in about 1500 minutes. Which was a better strike rate than anyone in the Premier League.
That's pretty much what I thouguht but there's absolutely no way of knowing. Something not quite relevant to anything here but interesting none the less which I stumbled upon was a detailed explanation of buyout clauses in Spain. Not sure if you're aware but every player hs to hve a buyout clause over there by law. Now these clauses are treated as the player buying out his contract. The league (all transfer payments are made from the buyer to the league then the league passes the money on for those who don't know) demands that the payment for a player to buy out his contract comes from the player himself. Whilst buying clubs will generally pay those fees to players, it makes the overall cost more expensive as those payments to the player in person are treated as income and are subject to income tax (I think that's what it said). No idea if that's how it works over here or not.
You are a proper idiot. All this **** was sparked by you. You're a boring ****. Your post stats are deteriorating with each post. For somebody who's allegedly made over 10,000 posts on message boards I would have thought you'd be able to use & understand the simple reply function. Did I mention, you're a boring ****? It's "apologise".
The Burnley Board called ClaretsMad is probably the most active board of all Footy Mad sites. Posted on there myself a few years ago. Andre Gray is currently a leading topic.
I was quoting the Burnley Express, I don't believe anyone has agreed a £9m fee for Gray. I think they might well have agreed a package that could end up costing £9m on promotion, but nobody is actually offered to hand over £9m now.
